This is the second time in as many months that I have been very disappointed with Fernwood Inn food. The first was a burger-dry, tasteless, clearly frozen, none-to-fresh bun. Ugh Tonight, a veggie burger......sadly, blah. It used to be fabulous! As advertised in the menu-I was waiting for the "applewood smoked cheddar" atop the "handmade veggie burger"..........instead I find a... More

The food isn't any special the handful of times of gone there, but the atmosphere is what sucks you in. It is hard to explain but it seems to give life to that corner of Fernwood and it draws you in. It always seems to be bustling and the staff all seem to be quite friendly the times I've gone.

Typical English Pub atmosphere. We went for brunch and the eggs benny were good, mimosas reasonable and the coffee hot and plentiful!

Great pub in a local neighbourhood favoured by locals. Good beer, good food in a somewhat dark, traditional pub. Friendly service by staff makes the difference.

Right off the bat I have to tell you that we're biased (our nephew is the chef). He makes a mean carrot ginger soup along with lots of other creations on his menu. Definitely worth your while!

I've often been here with a friend for a few beers and a snack. Their pub food, burgers and such, are better than average. They have a few good salads and some other choices that show the kitchen in good light. The service can be a bit spotty and, if there's a play in the theatre across the street, quite... More

We had lunch there today and I must say our meal was so so. I ordered the Shiitake Mushroom stir fry adding prawns. My wife ordered the Thai soup. The soup was not good at all. Very bland and quite thick she could not eat it. My meal was very bland and the prawns that were added were more like... More

Went here twice now for a business lunch. Seated immediately. Not busy on a Monday or Thursday. Menu although not extensive had something for everyone with meals running $14 to $18 on average. Service was quick. Food fantastic, chicken fingers, fish burger soup!! The yam fries are delish!

One of my favourites in Victoria. Can be a bit loud but the atmosphere and character help that fade away. Excellent food, excellent service. Something else that I liked was the mixed clientele ... all ages and types of people, all having a great time.

I live in the area and frequent the Fernwood Inn with a friend of mine when we want a pint (or two) and some tasty pub food. I recommend the buttermilk chicken strips and yam fries, they go very well with an IPA. It's always busy but I don't think I've ever waited for longer than 10 minutes to get... More
