Bougjt 6x8 Caramel Macchiato Praline Crunch for New Yrs Eve. I found 3 small strands of white/grey hair. 1st behind my spoon, and both 2nd and 3rd it actually INSIDE the mousse. The hair not sure if its a human hair or a PET hair....First, we dont have any pets at home. 2nd, None of us have grey hair. So now Should I throw the cake or i have to keep an eye on this cake everytime I put in my mouthMore

Delicious late night eats! We went in for a croissant at 1 am (pregnancy cravings!) and left with a sandwich, a chipotle chicken pastry, a cake and a croissant. Service was fast and restaurant was nice and tidy. They had a great selection considering it...was so late at night.More

We decided to stop in at Breka Bakery and Cafe to have a quick look after lunch at the So Hyang Korean restaurant (also on Fraser Street) on this Friday afternoon. In the end, I couldn’t resist buying a glazed donut ($1.25) and an apple...strudel for $9.50. The donut was light and not as sweet as their counterparts in the chain donut shops. Overall, a nice tasting donut but in my opinion could be slightly sweeter for my tastes (or has my brain and tastebuds been conditioned to more sugary glazes?). I shared my donut with my spouse and daughter and they did not seem to mind the less “sugariness” of the glaze. The apple strudel was about 4 inches by 14/16 inches long. The pastry was slightly flaky (and slightly on the soft side) and the apple filling was not very sweet. Taste-wise it was good. I would rate the overall food experience as above average - 3.5 out of 5. If you’re in the area, I would give this bakery a try. Notes & Tips • On this Friday afternoon around 2:30 the bakery cafe was busy with people eating in and take out purchases • Small seating area to have coffee/tea, sandwiches and dessert • Credit cards accepted • Parking can be an issue due to the number of spots on Fraser Street. There is limited free parking in the residential areas less than 2 blocks away. There is also pay parking from about 42nd Avenue to 49th Avenue in the alley way. • 5 locations and open 24/7 • Check website for additional information • See my review of So Hyang Korean RestaurantMore

Two thumbs up for their cakes and pastries. Have never tried their sandwiches. The layout of the cashier/order desk is all wrong as there is quite a congestion of customers lining up to order and pay for their purchases as well as choosing items. This...cafe has several outlets around town mainly on the west side of town. Fraser is the most congested set up yet. Overall a good place to order cakes for special occasions.More

Thank you for your feedback! Which apple strudel did you try? We have a full sized Apple Strudel which can be cut into 6-8 pcs, and our other apple strudel is the Pistachio Apple Strudel which we serve by the slice.

Decidedly, this is an old fashioned bakery and cafe. Good old baked good, fresh and ample. No real gluten-free options to be had here. We didn’t care, we just took digestive enzymes. It’s clean, looks like it is well-used and well-loved. It feels like a...safe haven. Our dear friend we hadn’t seen for over 10 years met us there. It’s close to where he lives. We had pasties, a jelly doughnut, a heft sandwich and several teas. We were only in town for 5 days and we met our friend there twice. I’m giving it 5 stars because despite the well-worn appearance, the staff was lovely, it felt like our favorite bakeries growing up in NYC, and it is in a delightful community of diverse individuals. When we return to Vancouver we will definitely stop here with our friend for a little slice of deliciousness.More

The chocolate chip cookies are 90% sugar, 5% flour and 5% chocolate chips. I ate 3 recently and my mouth told me I was, basically, eating only sugar. When I got home 15 minutes later the first thing I did was clean my teeth. Each...cookie had 2 or 3 chipits only. This deserves 1 star but I gave it 2 only because the staff were helpful and polite.More

This review is for take home experience... Located on the busy section of Fraser St. in Vancouver Eastside, this is one of the older locations of this chain of 24/7 bakery & cafes. Food quality is up there with the rest of the locations as...their standard and consistency is well known. Staffs are friendly and efficient and if you do see a line-up it is normal, have a bit of patience and you will be served next very very soon! My personal favourite is their Strawberry Short Cake, light as air but still very creamy, other must haves are donuts!! Cinnamon Sugar & Cruller are the ones I usually get and with a nice pot of tea or coffee, one is all set for the evening with a good selection of movies on the telly!More
