Yum! So many delicious treats, AND open 24 hours??! Yes! Love the cheese scones grilled with butter, the yogourt parfaits with homemade granola, and the many other delicious desserts/treats! Was a bonus that it was so close to where my BFF lived. Will have to travel a little further next time I'm in town to visit! :)

Soup, sandwiches, bread, dessert, coffee... they have it. Not only do they have a wide variety, it's tasty. As it's open 24 hours, there was a variety of people there from students to families to groups of friends. It was crowded on a Sunday night (about 9 pm) but we managed to snag a table for 4. Don't mind that... More

Their Almond cake is so light and airy, reminds you of home. I have brought this cake to many parties, I would be proud to call it my own.

I'll be honest. I come for the apricot jam doughnuts and stay for a mini quiche and a great latte. Just so I can justify my sweet tooth..I visit one of the three locations often. One site is near the Cinematique Theatre, so a great post-film hangout. I believe this chain is open 24/7, at least the Fraser street location... More

First, they are open 24 hours; it will be my go-to place for late nights from now on. They have a tremendous variety of sweet baked goods, including oversized donuts, with dozens of types of breads and rolls. Excellent dessert choices as well. They also have really hearty sandwiches, from pulled pork to Montreal smoked meat to pastrami to reubens... More

The constant flow of locals during my breakfast tells the tale. A wall of amazing breads, large display cabinet of breakfast/lunch sandwiches, and the aroma of excellent coffee bids you in to try new tastes and linger if you are fortunate enough to have the time. If you are any near the Fraser area, you have to check out this... More

I usually go to Breka downtown, I just found this one a few months ago is close to my place. The strudel is my favourite, if you want baked goods Breka is the place to go. The cakes are amazing. The regular sized cookies i find costly at over a $1 each, I tried them because I love chocolate pecan,... More

As we know, Vancouver is littered with coffee shops. From the big, over-priced chains to small, solo mum & pops joints. However if you are every in the Langara area make a beeline for Breka on Fraser St. In addition to the excellent baked goods offered daily they have, and I'll take no argument here, the BEST coffee in town.

Great German bread is made here. The German pastry is great as well. Breka is open 7x24 and if you go for 6 am you can get fresh bread and pastries. Worth the trip

Staying in Little India / Punjabi Market

Neighbourhood Profile
Little India / Punjabi Market
Little India has changed in recent years. While some view it as a declining neighbourhood due to emigration and competition, it is still the original site of the Punjabi Market, and an epicentre for Indo-Canadian culture. The many textile outlets along these blocks boast endless swaths of colourful sari fabric, while the local markets and food stalls waft the savory scent of sugar and spice. Indian fast-pop breaks the quiet of the neighbourhood, as it drifts out from the windows of shops and homes, and glitzy storefronts offer bangles, jewels, and silk at reasonable prices. Join the bargain hunt and step into a world apart in Little India, which becomes especially upbeat during the summer, when celebrations and festivities take hold of its streets.
