Good reception, excellent service, good food, nice place to be in. Bravo Marcello reign on this place with a high professional ideal.
the satisfaction here of the clients is the noble concern of Mr. Marcello the sole owner.
We were looking for a good place for pasta that was close to our work. Found Marcello’s deep in the middle of Little Italy on Commercial drive. What could go wrong? ... nothing!
We got there just before 12:00 and it was starting to get...busy. Lots of reserved tables so a good sign!
There were so many options and decided on the Pastacciati Gnocchi and it was exactly the way I wanted it. Gnocchi on point and perfectly cooked. The sauce was a creamy tomato meat sauce and tasted amazing! Sooo good :)
We also had Spaghetti alla bolognese. It was very tasty and well seasoned. Good balance of acidity and heartiness. One small concern as there was a touch too much sauce/meat with not enough noodles... or maybe that’s more on us?!?
A great dining experience and we’ll definitely be back.More

I come to Marcellos for almost 20 years and I always loved the authentic Pizza. Due to Covid I was not able to come for almost a year and when I finally did ove the weekend, I was disappointed. This is not the pizza you...had before, this was just dry and way too crisp. It felt like a gigantic cracker or like a tarte flambee from France. I rellay hope it was just a bad day and I will give you another chance. If this change is on purpose, it does not work. Please go back to your old recipe.More
Great Italian restaurant on Commercial Drive! My hubby picked this place and with my lifestyle change of no-low carbs and sugar free typically Italian food is not a good idea! What was he thinking? I don’t feel like a salad again as I had one...for lunch.
I was greeted by the host upon entering who told me she will be misting sanitizer on my hands. Mist away!
I found my hubby near the front of the restaurant. It was quite busy on a Friday night. It felt cozy and warm with top 40 music playing.
You need to scan QR code for the menu. It was a bit challenging for me to choose a non-salad meal but they did have gluten free pasta and I asked the staff about the ingredients of the GF pasta. He didn’t know and brought out the bag and read out the ingredients.
I ended up choosing GF penne with meatballs. It was super tasty. I tend to not finish my entree but this time I did. The meatballs were large and satisfying and perfectly enough to have each a bite with penne at the end.
My hubby got the item on special. I don’t remember the name but it was loaded with mussels. He thoroughly enjoyed his dish and told me the flavours on point.
Our staff was super attentive to us. I drink a lot of water with meals and every time my glass was empty within 5 seconds he’s filling it. He must’ve refilled my glass about 5 times. I am quite used to flagging someone to refill, but certainly not this time.
Great spot of a good Italian meal on The Drive. Must dine here!More
We had lunch at this fabulous Italian restaurant in the heart of little Italy. The grilled calamari was the best we have ever had and the rapini sausage pizza was so good!! We can’t wait to go back and thank you to the hostess and...our waitress Julia for your service you were amazing 🤩More
How do you describe heavenly?! Four of us went for lunch at Marcello's and we all had fantastic meals. I ordered the curried-prawn linguini: the sauce was lovely and light, not too spicy, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The portion was large, and...I took the remainder home. We sat on the patio, under a heater; the staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient. Our temperatures were taken as we walked in, and the tables were set up for social-distancing. I'd highly recommend this great restaurant on 'The Drive'!More
I had the tagliatelle with seafood. It was homemade tagliatelle with mussels, clams , and calamari- lots of these items . It only had one prawn so it would have been nice to have a few more. It was served with a creamy tomato sauce....Tagliatelle was cooked al dente. A little more sauce was needed as the pasta absorbs it. The other person had gnocchi with meat in creamy tomato sauce -excellent. Both dishes were rich and filling so we didn’t walk over to our favorite gelato place.
Safety measures are in place: tables are correctly distanced , your hands are sprayed with sanitizer when you enter, cutlery wrapped up, etc. Good safety protocols are in place. You can eat in or outside.More
