This cafe is very close to my school, so I come here often. If you order food it would take about 10-15 minutes dependin com the day and what you order. But I come here often because of the great coffee and food!

This little place offers good small meals, like soup, bagels, pies and cakes. Service is fast and the place is inexpensive.

I went here for breakfast last weekend and found the man taking the orders incredibly rude. When I asked for a menu he shouted that it was on the wall despite the 2 customers in front of me both having a paper version and the menu inside differing in items and prices to what was advertised outside. I should've left... More

Bambo Cafe is one of the oldest surviving restaurant cafes in Gastown. It's owner operated and a staple in the fibre of Gastown. Quite often, I recognize other locals who frequent Bambo Cafe for the exceptionally friendly service, the fresh food and the funky vibe. The patrons are local artists, start-up professionals, designers, tech people and of course, tourists. The... More

We called in here for breakfast while wandering around gastown. We ordered and sat down. The staff were not very friendly and it was only after we took our seat I realised how grubby and dirty the place was. Dust and grime were everywhere. The washrooms were no better either. We ate our food which was fine but I would... More

Was just strolling around Gastown earlier today, and happened to drop into Bambo Cafe. The staff were so friendly, the food fresh, well presented, and tasted so good. The vegetarian wrap was excellent. So too the chai tea latte, and the apple, limon, ginger juice. It's apparently been there for over 17 years and one of the original gastown restaurants.... More

A small little eatery, with good fresh food. I had the omelette which came with a small side of potatoes and toast. Free wifi was a plus. Friendly staff.

Just dropped into the Bambo Cafe by chance while walking through The Gas Town district of Vancouver. Our best breakfast of the holiday so far. Friendly staff, freshly squeezed orange juice, omelette eggs over easy, bacon toast, jam and large mugs of quality tea. Even a choice of gluten free bread. Well worth a visit👌

A cool place in Gastown for brunch. The 4 of us had specialty coffees and lunch for $46.00. Soup and sandwiches were fresh and awesome. This is such a lovely area for a stroll and we just happened upon this place as other trendier joints were full. There are about 7 small tables. Soon this place will be packed Sundays... More

Our initial plan was to eat in a more popular sandwich place in Gas Town, but it was closed for the holidays. So, since it was a nice sunny, albeit cold, winter’s day, we strolled along the area and stumbled on Bambo Café, a quaint “hole in the wall” café that was exactly what we felt like trying out. We... Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
