I visited again with my aging parents and the staff were understanding, welcoming, and accommodating. It was a bit noisy for people with some hearing loss, but that didn't really take away from the experience. We enjoyed the variety on the menu and you can craft yourself a meal that is the perfect size for yourself. The appetizer tapenade and... More

A main stay in Point Grey. They put the F in Fine Dining. . . this is the parent outlet of the Provence on Marinaside Crescent . . . they sold earlier this year to, I think, a former employee. They will be missed. I remember Friday nights when we couldnt get in even with reservations!

We had attended an old friend's celebration of life in the afternoon, where they served some tasty appetizers along with wine, so we all opted for the "Mains" on the menu. Our waitress was most attentive, and our meals were superb!

This site has had a couple of very fine restaurants: The Frog and Peach, and for the last 20 years it has been Provence Mediterranean. The meals have always been good and Provence has been an elegant room offering an upscale neighbourhood dining room for lunch, dinner, and tea (we celebrated a friend's birthday with a high tea at Provence... I understand the need for microwaves in fast pasted restaurants but when it's used for every dish, in an establishment that charges what Provence does, I'm not sold. Our appy [meatballs] arrived within two minutes of ordering, which was great. Sadly both the balls and the tsunami of tomato sauce were completely bland. Mains of chicken and lamb chops were... Enjoyed this very popular local restaurant again. This time celebrating a family birthday. Had the crispy calamari with nice aioli. Then had the seafood linguine which was very good. Patron conversations can get noisy due to shape of the room. There's also a small outdoor patio with a few tables too. This restaurant has been around for 18 years and... More

The two course luncheon special is tasty and a good value. The fresh B.C. steelhead was memorable. Be advised that the restaurant has poor sound insulation and it can be very noisy.

Having enjoyed our meal here on our last visit to Vancouver, we were eager to go a second time. We were not disappointed. My wife and I shared an order of crab cakes; I had the rack of lamb and she the mushroom ravioli. I had the chocolate terrine with raspberries; she had the clafoutis. Our guest had the roast... Was treated by a former coworker and did a bit of a memory lane walk as well as getting caught up on the present. A nice treat. On a beautiful Thursday evening in August, the restaurant was pretty empty between 6-7:30 pm and then began to fill up. Guess everybody was still at the beach. I chose a delicious Steelhead... More

A place calling itself Provence and presenting French high cuisine is fairly held to a really high sgtandard--and Provence fell short too often. We were eager to find a place in Vancouver that served north Pacific scallops, since prior experience suggests they're terrific. Alas, we could find no place in town with scallops on the menu--until we were referred here.... More

Staying in West Point Grey

Neighbourhood Profile
West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
