If you like French food, you will absolutely love this restaurant. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and extensive wine list. Keep it up Le Crocodile!

Every dish was excellent. I had a dual main of venison and duck, both really good, perfectly cooked, served warm. The appetizer was especially good, I believe it was a seared foie gras. My wife's crab appetizer was good too, but since we are from western washington and have friends who give us fresh crab, that is a harder bar... More

I thought restaurants like this had disappeared. Le Crocodile is a French restaurant that combines excellent service with properly prepared French style Cuisine. They don't slavishly adhere to tradition. Caribou, salmon and Digby scallops are on the menu but the preparation is traditional. The service includes replacing cutlery (an almost lost courtesy) and the amuse bouche and pallet cleanser that... More

Have been going to this restaurant for the past twenty years and the experience is always positive, beyond expectation and makes me want to go back for more. The thoughtfulness is in all aspects, from the overall well appointed dinning space to the fine details of the food. You can taste the thoughtfulness, even in the way the cherry tomato... More

At last, a highly rated restaurant that actually surpassed expectations. Le Crocodile offers fine cuisine rooted in France but inspired by fresh local produce, fish and game and each meal is a delight from beginning to end. Service is attentive without being smothering. We found the main course meat portions too generous but that hardly qualifies as a complaint!

Everytime we visit LeCrocodile the food has been fabulous. Pretty much tried everything on the menu and you can't go wrong. The specials are always awesome but my favourite part is the dark and milk chocolate crocodiles at the end. Staff is very knowledgable and can usually help you decide what would best suit your palate that evening. A must... More

The menu was varied and impressive, however the food quality was good but the quantity only satisfied those with a small appetite. The service was OK but not great. One server bumped into me twice while a sat there without so much as an excuse me. Our waitress was pathetic, it took over 40 minutes for her to get the... More

My wife and I and a friend had dinner at Le Crocodile during a week-long visit to Vancouver. One can eat very well in Vancouver and we did: Five Sails (the best halibut I have ever had), Salmon & Bannock, L’Abattoir, Banana Leaf, Blind Sparrow. But, the meal at Le Crocodile was the pinnacle. It was French dining at its... More

We were not expecting much from a french restaurant in Vancouver, but were very pleasantly surprised. Le Crocodile would easily be a two-star Michelin restaurant if in Paris, and a contender for three stars. However, unlike Paris, the staff was extremely friendly and the prices very reasonable. We hadn't realized how nice the restaurant was and were just passing through... More

September 2016 was our second visit to Le Croc, a gourmet French Restaurant. This is a MUST EXPERIENCE for anyone who loves superlative food. Not only do they make the best Fois Gras we have ever had, this time, the highlight was surprise "gifts from the Chef" that took place throughout the dining experience. Please don't worry at bit about... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
