We came in specifically to check out their live music on a Saturday and impressed. The singer guitarist had a very good voice but can be hard to hear amongst the chatter of guests on the pub side of the restaurant. The food was really...good. We had the harbour platter and all of their daily specials: lamb shank and spaghetti with seafood and sticky toffee pudding along with a bottle of local wine.More

Once again we decided to go to one of our favourite restaurants in the city that not only offers an amazing ambiance but a cornucopia of spectacular dining delights! Today we decided to do what in Japanese cuisine is referred to as “omakase” (leave it...to the chef... chef Jason is in my humble opinion (I dined out at least 10 x week pre-covid throughout North America) the Picasso of dining experience! Not only is he incredibly passionate about ensuring that every ingredients’ specific contribution to the dish is appreciated and flavour enhanced but the eclectic and artistic nature of the presentation only serves to enhance the ultimate expression known as “we eat with our eyes first”! We started our lunch with two amazing pizzas one known as a spicy Hawaiian which was to die for delicious and perfectly accentuate it with the spices that made our mouth water and quest for wine wallow followed by a pesto prawn pizza with a sprinkle of tomato to add an acidic accent that yummied our tummies to no end...! Then came the “piece de resistance” or as our beloved friends from Japan would “omakase”. Jason brought to the table an amazing cornucopia of lamb shank on top of a beautiful mashed potatoes surrounded by a crusty Panko crust and on the side delicious tortellini and scallop topped with salmon roe... OMG!!! See photo attached! Not only was this amazing art but spectacularly delicious and without question one of my best lunches ever! If you guys want to truly experience a magnificent lunch or dinner you really need to come to this restaurant because not only is the restaurant full of great energy, spectacular ambiance but managed by a chef who should be recognized in the Michelin world! See photos attached!More

We had lunch there on wesneday 10th. We have been warmly welcomed by everybody. Our waiter (i forgot his name... tall 30yo man...Jarvis maybe ?) Was extremely nice and professional. The decor is great in a huge wooden warehouse with a strong navy them. The...view on the Marina and the Bay is pretty cool. The food is probably their "weak spot". Dont get me wrong : its good food but a bit pricey IMO. I had dumplings for starters who were the kind that you can buy in supermarket and cook yourslelf, I dont think they were homemade...Then the cedar plank salmon was too sweet/bitter (tu much Soy sauce on it). The food was good but maybe not enough for the price, but i understand that you pay for the location and the decor, ane im OK with that ! For info, its part of the same group that the SandBar who is one of our favourites in Vancouver, so if you like the SB you will enjoy Cardero at 100 % !!More

Great spot to pop in day or night, right along the waterfront trail. It has both a large indoor dining room/bar, and a year round patio (or at least, it is right now to allow people to eat outside during covid).. I usually come for...happy hour, with a small reduction in drink prices and a few great items on the menu for food. Otherwise, it is moderately priced with some good deals if you comb through the options. Service is always impeccable, classic and polite. In my opinion, Cardero's really shines at dusk and beyond, when they light the candles and the vibe is super intimate and cozy, especially in the winter.More

Chose because of the good T/A ranking but more so, the reviews were from genuine established diners - note my number of reviews. Many restaurants have a high rating but if you notice, the reviews are all from ‘people’ having a history of only 1...review - obviously the owner is stuffing the ballot box. Our lunch experience was absolutely excellent on all counts, even the background music was spot on, for our middle aged tastes. The broad menu covers all bases including pasta, fish, pizza, steak, wok frying, pork chops, salads, burgers etc. Great wine list too. The wok fried calamari must be experienced - nice thick juicy slabs as opposed to the usual dry and over battered rings. The fish and chips were beautifully done in a crisp and feather light batter. Our server Emily was a doll who has a great sense of timing with the service. She happily oversaw my variation request to a menu item, and seemed to sense our every need and requirement, even before we asked. Request her section if possible.More

Great night out at a time when you don’t think you can go out. Great management of spacing and seating by staff. Ambience is excellent, it’s right on the water, our server Dawna knew her stuff and the food was excellent. Cedar planked salmon and...pizza for the two of us. Dawna recommended a great value wine. Definitely going back here againMore

Another perfect evening. Thanks to Ronnie and the entire staff for making our New Years Eve so amazing, even with the very stupid decrease in hours given from Health Minister at the last hour. The dining and ambiance and drink selection absolutely stellar and a...special shout out to the hostess team and Laura in the lounge! We had a perfect spot on the covered, heated patio right at the Ocean, then a table held for us to enjoy the live music. We were so blown away by this great experience that we bought the entire staff a drink. We will keep coming back. Thanks Ronnie and team!More

Despite the excellent food and good service, what WOULD of made this an outstanding visit would be if they had actually paid attention to the notes in the reservation I made. First off I mentioned it was a birthday celebration. Zero mention made. Not from...the waiter or hostess. Second, I requested a window table, we couldn’t be FURTHER from a window... we were sat right in front of their bar..... and lastly, a member of our party can’t actually wear a mask due to health reasons... we’ll they dropped that ball as well, when they asked him where his was.... The food WAS perfectly cooked and our server ( older Asian man) did know how to correctly read a table as we were not rushed at all. So that was nice. But it would of been an incredibly memorable evening if all the expectations were met.More

Not only is Carderos beautifully positioned geographically as it sits along the water right at the entrance to Stanley Park and a stones throw from the heart of downtown Vancouver, they have a spectacular ambiance rain or shine, open kitchen and DELISH cuisine. Chef Jason...asked if I’d consider trying a new creative firewood oven pizza idea he had and of course I was not only accepting but felt privileged knowing what an awesome and creative chef he is (been coming here for years). It was so new, it had no name but loaded with flavour and awwwww!!! It had a light cheese sauce, lots of lightly sautéed white onions and fresh clams. OMG, the flavours were pronounced yet not overpowering, the scent spectacular and the taste...OUTSTANDING! We had it as an appetizer and gobbled it up like hungry wolves though I had to leave room for their award winning Linguine Vongole. Chef Jason is a Vanvouver star who is loved by all who are lucky enough to have him at the helm when they’re enjoying a fabulous dining experience at Cardero’s. Nicolina our server was also wonderful and offered up some very fun banter as she took care of our dining wishes. As I said in my title of this review “Great Food, Great Ambiance, AMAZING STAFF!!! Even during these challenging pandemic times, Cardero’s is a MUST GO TO if you’re looking to cheer up and enjoy delish dining! Thank you all...!!!More
