Cross Canada almond croissant tour makes a stop in Vancouver at the breka bakery and cafe. This time it was almond and chocolate combined. Perfect balance of the two flavours with just the right amount of flair. Well done

Stopped in the Breka on Bute St to grab an iced mocha. I was in a bit of a rush but thought I had enough time to grab a drink. There were 3 people ahead of me and a couple of people on the side...waiting for their orders. After 8 mins of waiting I asked the barista if the mocha was coming. 5 mins later I had to ask again. I was so close to walking out. This location seems very unorganized- I think they should be hiring some more staff.More

Everything looked very delicious...lots of activity customers coming and going...which is a good indicator of quality. We only had doughnuts and coffee but it was very good and surprisingly good value.

Had morning coffee here each day on our visit to Vancouver. It was across the street from the hotel. Delicious pasty and coffee shop. Excellent service, large variety of pastries and sandwiches. Coffee is fresh and tasty. Large space is open, bright with large wrap...around windows, and comfortable. Recommended.More

I was curious when I googled for best bakery and Breka was on the list so I need to look for this bakery...and I did find it. There was a bit of a line-up and no seat was available so I opted for a take...out. I tried their donut, muffin and German apple streudel and they were all good. The next day, I brought my husband and had dessert and coffee and the mango-coconut mousse was delicious. The cashier said they are open 24/7...woow!!! I was happy to find this bakery. It doesn't disappoint.More

My girlfriend and I were on the hunt for a bakery that would have some delicious scones as we were going to bring them home to enjoy them while watching the Downton Abbey movie. We found Breka and are glad we did. We enjoyed the...blueberry white chocolate scones and would happily return for more.More

Microwaving pastries is such a dumb idea, as evidenced by the awful veggie roll and scone we just had. Soggy, with unmelted cheddar on the top of the scone, made both choices deeply unappetizing. I might come back for something that doesn’t require heating but...probably not...More

Thank you for your feedback Lisa! If you're not a fan of the microwave, please let us know and feel free to request for the item to be warmed up on the grill instead. Our staff would be happy to assist you with that!

If you are looking for a very good cafe that has variety of foods and drinks then this is the place to come to for breakfast. They have a variety of pastries and sandwiches which you can choose to order. They also make a very...good cappuccino which is done just right. There is even seating outdoors if you want to enjoy the fresh air. Went on a couple of different occasions and quite enjoyed the Montreal Meat Sandwich and it was quite filling and also a medium cappuccino. I would return to this cafe again before I leave as quite enjoy the atmosphere in the early morning. When ordering their food and drinks you just wait till they call your number or call out what you have ordered and take it back to your table. It is a bit different but interesting to experience.More

We were recommended to try this cafe/bakery by our hotel reception as we arrived too early for our room. This place is always busy but the coffee/tea and food is very good indeed. At night the place is full of students with lap tops and...study material and very noisy. But still fun if you require a late supper after a long day's tour. Prices pretty good too. A bit Bohemian in style but an acceptable level of service.More

Surrounding comparable businesses hardly have any people. Breka has a constant flow of customers enjoying their food offerings. Their cakes and pastries look very appetizing. My husband was happy with his Turkey Sandwich. My Chicken Pot Pie did not have much chicken but it’s flaky...top and creaminess make it satisfactory. With a medium delicious hot chocolate cup, I felt that I overate. Nice ambience with outdoor seating. Nicely located as its location on Bute is closed to vehicular traffic. We would go back to try their Pistachio Apple Strudel.More
