We stopped in on the night the Cubs won the world series. But it was not that busy, lots of empty table. My partners Salmon was over cooked and dried out and my Shepherds pie was crumbly and dry as well. The beer was cold! I would not stop at any Elephant & Castle again.

This is a pub chain, and it is what you'd expect from such an establishment. I had a burger, and my wife the daily soup. My nephew had the same burger as me. The soup went back, as the 'flavour' was off, and replaced with onion soup, which was O.K. The burger was very good! The atmosphere was somewhat average... More

We stopped in here after a long day, tired and hungry. Got a nice table from very friendly young lady on the front desk and ordered drinks which arrived promptly. The menu was good with lots of english pub food, I had the fish and chips and my wife had a burger, both were excellent. Sports on the many TV's... More

It was within walking distance of our restaurant. A little noisy, but not really a big deal. Excellent service and delicious food.

Stopped in for lunch with my wife, good service and good beer. Nice to see a couple of veggie options on the menu, but just a nice place to enjoy a beer and a bite to eat.

This restaurant and bar is very clean and classy-looking. There is wood everywhere and the waitresses are dressed nicely. The food is classic English fare and is hot, and quick. It filled up very fast during lunch hour around 12pm when we visited on Thursday, but by 1pm it was almost empty.

Conveniently located at the corner of Hastings and Burrard, offering classic pub food and brews but also some other tasty options. Highly recommend the turkey club wrap with a pint of Alexander Keith's pale ale... somewhat noisy but great food, well-priced and complemented by daily drink specials!

I loved the atmosphere it reminded me a little, of an english pub style. I had dinner in a booth towards the back of the building as it was quieter there. I enjoyed a pint of Stella on draft. My steak and mushroom pie was excellent and I enjoyed it with a side salad. On could have had it with... More

Five of us went to visit after having dinner a few blocks away from the pub. Bobbi Jo was our server. She was very kind and sweet. The patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as we did. We had a blast meeting a guy for the UK, DJ was his name. Thanks for a great time!

We walked into this pub because we thought it looked inviting, like a typical British pub, but on the upscale side. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The drinks menu was extensive. I tried some cucumber concoction that turned out to be delicious! We went twice in one night, before and after dinner, we enjoyed it so much.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
