I snuck into Tartine to set up camp and wait for my husband to get finished with a business meeting. We had to check out of our Air BnB at 11:00 am, and he wouldn't be finished until at least 2:00 pm, which meant I would be homeless for the next three hours. Tartine had wifi, so I ordered a... Went in for coffee/hot chocolate and turkey sandwich. Service was fast , pleasant and accommodating. The food excellent, drinks were hot and good. Glad we decided to follow the VAC pool receptionist' recommendation... We will be released visiting in the future as the kids spend hours in practice at this pool every week.

Nothing like the famous Tartine in SF, but decent for a small bite of pie. The cream pie is 2/3 cream, 1/3 other filling so be warned. They offer tiny half dollar sized pies, small pies, and slices. Can't comment on their savory menu.

Been here a few times and a couple of times in the last week. I went with a friend for their multigrain bread which is light and tasty and really nice and crisp when toasted. While in there the first time, they had a peach and blueberry pie sample. I'm not really a pie lover but wow was it ever... More

Love all the bakery products but especially their pies - such a variety to choose from. Try the Salted Carmel Apple pie. Amazing.

Having walked from dinner around the marine walk we stumbled upon this place. The evening special was pie and tea for $4.00. Good deal. We had the apple/blackberry crumble - a good choice with peppermint tea - served hot. A great way to end the day.

Walked in at breakfast and was impressed by their hedgehog mocha (hazelnut-ish) and chicken pot pie (total $11) that I returned a few hours later with my BF for lunch. Place is cozy with free wifi. Their lunch special that day was thin crust pizza (choice of ham& pineapple and veggie). Also tried their tuna melt and chili. Big servings... More

I am glad I do not live in the same city as Tartine because I would be there every day! I did manage three trips to Tartine during my Vancouver vacation. I had the veggie breakfast sandwich with avocado added and highly recommend that one-so tasty. I stuck to drinking dirty chais and they were excellent and finally I had... More

We were walking the seawall, so we planned a stop here. Not starving, so we split an curried chicken sandwich - excellent - and I have to admit I ate most of the raspberry rhubarb ginger pie. First-class pie, short of perfection only in that the ginger didn't seem to be uniformly distributed. Prices fair, service fine, newspapers to read,... More

Inspired and imagined by Jo-Ann, the bakery is simply an extension of her love for people and food. Muffins, breads, tarts and treats. Our menu is full of variety. We cater lunch functions with hearty sandwiches, soups, salads and pastries. Simple, not to be reproduced, this bakery is as unique as its setting just off English Bay. Started out of her own kitchen, Jo-Ann's aim is easily detected: she simply wants you to adore her baking. And you will.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
