Good things were the freshness of the cooking and that all food was prepared to order and not reheated. But sorry to say the menu whilst original and potentially interesting just did not work for our group. The flavour combinations did not really gel so congratulations on originality but please think a little more on the overall balance of flavours... More

Small but great little off the grid bar for drinks and nibbles. Bartenders know their craft and create great cocktails. It is a small place with very cool decor.

Reading the rewiews we thought that tis is a good place for dinner. We are not in line with the other voters. Be honest this is a small italian cucina noting special. First thing we were told that the wine we chose is out of stock and that truffels are not availiable out of a menue with 10 choices. We... More

The place is not very inviting , but service is friendly. Great to sit at the bar. We had the carpaccio and the table of cold cuts and cheese. Excellent! Together with a good Barbera and a Pinot Grigio. Recommend for dinner or pre dinner.

I've only been here a few times, but every single time I've had a highly memorable cocktail. The bartenders show rare levels of craftsmanship and interest in their work, and the result always impresses me. Although some cocktails can seem a little strange or overly creative based on the ingredient lists, the flavors are really well balanced and come together... More

We had asked for recommendations prior to our trip (seeking out great cocktails in BC), and this one came up over and over--as well as when we asked other industry staff in BC itself. Small storefront tucked next to a loud Irish pub--worth seeking out. We sat at the bar (our preferred spot) and chatted a bit with H, the... More

My husband and I walked in to Notturno after a hockey game (after receiving some recommendations from a few friends to try it out) and were immediately drawn in by the atmosphere. It is a small, intimate location, with the bar area at the back. It was packed, but we were lucky to get seats at the bar - what... More

Exceptionally crafted cocktails - didn't opt for the delicious seasonal offerings but a classic old fashioned - a solid, well concocted, perfect cocktail. The small plates were well constructed, with quality ingredients, and really refreshing (Burrata is a staple!). A clean, simple environment with well selected decor was an excellent place to relax - not overly boisterous or noisy. Can't... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
