It's a great place to have a croissant-capuccino and then treat yourself with a delicious small chocolate! Love it!

I wish I could actually enjoy the mini cakes that I just bought from this place today for $59 in total. Staff was very disrespectful and condescending. I was standing at the counter paying when the staff who served me asked the other female staff if she should give me plastic bag (I had not asked for it yet). The... More

Was pleased again to get a couple of beautiful, and delicious cakes from Thomas Haas! Everyone always enjoys them, and their chocolate cakes are fantastic! Visited before, and will return again and again...

We went in after lunch for a late night desert we got the chocolate raspberry roll and the pistachio sour cherry chocolate ball. Both were outstanding. For the breakfast goodies we got the hazelnut danish and the twice baked chocolate croissant. Both were perfect. We heated them up in the oven and they were fantastic.

Consistently the best-tasting Croissants in the city, but lots of other goodies too! Very popular pâtisserie on the westside of the city and rightly so. Well organized, prompt service with a smile. Limited seating, especially in winter, as the outside patio may not be useable. Coffee good too.

I am not a dessert person, if I had discovered the fares of Herr Hobbs a decade sooner I would have eaten myself into an early grave by now. It is as beautiful as it is scrumptious. He is an artist and a perfectionist . King Thomas long may he reign.

I have ordered a birthday cake twice from this place and have never been disappointed. It is one of the best cakes in the lower mainland. The size of the cake is a bit small considering the price that you pay for it but it will never stop me from buying it again.

The endless selection at Thomas Haas was mesmerizing. Making a choice here was difficult, to say the least. There will probably be a line up when you walk in but it moves fast as there are a lot of people working here, including Thomas himself. The double baked almond croissant is legendary here as well as the chocolate filled, pain... More

This is where to buy chocolate for those you care for, or for yourself. The finest of ingredients expertly fashioned into edible art. Not cheap but you, and they, are worth it.

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighbourhood Profile
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
