My two young sons, my mother and I stumbled on this excellent tea shop while walking through Gastown. It is very tucked away but their service is excellent. Even my 3 year old said he was having a good time while drinking his steamed almond milk. They are very accommodating. The teas are wonderful and very reasonably priced. If you... More

Really lucky to find Apres-Midi, the Premium Tea House in Gaolers Mews ... it's tucked away in a court yard behind a "run of the mill coffee shop". It was so good; friendly staff, good service and all the tea you could dream of ... my wife can't go anywhere without her cup of tea ... and this was just... More

During a recent vacation to Vancouver, I had the pleasure of stopping at this small tea shoppe near Gastown. We were sightseeing and shopping near the Waterfront and saw the sign for this tea house. We went down a short alley and to our surprise came to a small tea house. The lady that worked there is very knowledgeable about... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
