Don't get my wrong, the food is great! But the service is so poor I am not coming back, I've given them too many chances. The servers are always doing dishes and not attentive to customers. We need to go to the back to get someone's attention. They either need more staff or a separate dish washer! Hope they figure... More

Which is specifically why I wanted to try it (plus the great reviews it received). The dishes are primarily Bulgarian, and before you think "oh, bland and heavy Eastern European food", think again. The banitza, which comes with a choice of fillings, is essentially a Baltic quiche wrapped in filo pastry and is very flavorful and moist - and it... More

The food is amazing! The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired but the food more than makes up for it. The banitza is delicious. A variety of vegetarian options that all look very tempting. I went with the leek and feta option this time, but I am very excited to go back and try some of the others. The... More

Almost walked past. Easy to miss it but thank goodness we found it. Absolutely fabulous. Not run-of-the-mill. Large portions of perfectly seasoned, hot, fresh burek. I had the spinach and my husband had the spicy beef cabbage. Mine came with lovely homemade yougurt and salad and partner's came with yougurt seasoned with dill and hint of horseradish. Took away 3... More

We came here for breakfast a couple of times during our recent stay. We prefer getting out of the hotel and trying different cafes. We thought the breakfasts here were great! It doesn't look like much from the outside but thanks to other reviews we were confident the food would be good. I really loved the poached eggs with mushrooms... More

I was impressed by the quality of americano served before I even received the meal- thick layer of crema that I almost took for milk foam! Delicious fillo pastry options- both the frittata and banitza were great breakfasts. Highly recommend the side of roasted yams and Yukon gold potatoes. Nice start to a weekend morning.

I had the fillo omelette and my wife had the leek and feta banitza. both were so good. the potatoes and yams were... More

We had the perfect delicious lunch here, we both ordered the spinach banitza, they only had one leek and one spinach, so we each had half a slice of each, it came with a fresh salad and was really good. My friend was eyeing the vanilla custard for dessert, we shared that with two lattes, it was perfect! The service... More

This is a hole in the wall. Serves fresh and delicious breakfast. Have not tried the sweets but I like the brunch. Good coffee and friendly service. If you are catching a flight and in a hurry not so good. Tends to be busy because it is good food and cheap!

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
