I have been hearing of this fabulous Italian bakery from many of my friends and finally I made the trip into Vancouver and wow I was back in Italy when I was the variety of Italian breads, cakes and pastries in Fratelli's. I bought an assortment of pastries including two kinds of cannoli's, some panna cotta and some Italian bread... More

I happened on this lovely bakery after enjoying a latte with a friend next door at Café Calabria - he recommended it when I said I couldn't find really good canolis. Well, to my amazement, they had several varieties - I tried most of them - but the original Sicilian is still the best by far! Cookies are fresh. Neapolitans... More

The panini sandwich we got while on our Taste of Vancouver Walking tour was so delicious. I'm mad at our tour guide for telling us to pace ourself as you won't have room for all the goodies we're going to eat on the tour so I took one of the smaller piece of the panini. I wish I'd taken the... More

Great variety of cake and tarts. The service was very good. The items we purchased were very tasty. They make their own Panettone which is a bonus. They also sell breads but we didn't try any so can't comment on it.

Earlier this year, I went in to the Commercial Drive location and ordered 3 different flavoured cakes in 3 different sizes, as I had purchased a tiered stand to put them on for my parents anniversary party. I was very clear and specific about the size of cakes and flavors. The person who wrote down my order seemed to be... More

The Saint Honore is one of the best around - always fresh and delicious! The Italian breads are traditionally made, just like Italy - cornetti, mantovani, filoni.... death by bread! Many other tasty cakes and treats to enjoy :)

Stopped here for a couple pastries, and they were so good. Had the chese croissant, the chocolate croissant, and a cinnamon bun. Together with a couple of lattes, and we were set! There was so much to choose from, though! Yum!

I love their pastries and cakes. There are about 6 different types of cannolis, puff pastries, assortment of 21 cakes, and many other delicious desserts. Some of my favourite cakes are: St Honore, Black Forest, and Fresh Fruit - pre-order your cake if possible, so you're not disappointed. Marco can make a custom cake if you need it for a... More

We only tried the cookies here but they were amazing. We walked by it so many times and every time they had an amazing offering of fresh treats and lots of other options. Great cookies!

Staying in Commercial Drive

Neighbourhood Profile
Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive, also called "The Drive," comprises of twelve sauntering blocks of modest and unfussy counter-culture. Straddling the line between sophisticated and unadorned, it is favoured by students, artists, writers, designers, and start-ups, and suffused throughout with a healthy off-beat counter-culture. The kind of neighbourhood which well-springs thought-revolutions and has the odd bit of self-aware graffiti, Commercial Drive has resisted gentrification in favor of continuing to build a thriving den of affordable multiculturalism. Once known as Vancouver's "Little Italy," it has also been the immigration point for Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Portuguese to the city. The resulting hodgepodge makes for poetry readings in espresso cafes, social debates in early-open bakeries, and eco-activism posters pinned up in the many multi-ethnic markets in the area. Commercial Drive is where you go to feel like a local, and if you have them, bring the kids – The Drive has a number of bookshops, toy stores, and attractions to get them involved too.
