It's a small, atmospheric place on a street lined with refurbished warehouses, with small offices and a couple of cafes, so you could easily walk past the Jam Cafe. If you did, you might be missing an experience. The breakfast and lunch menu was varied,...but looked interesting. We opted for a veggie bowl breakfast, topped with an egg, with tater tots (I called them pota-TOES, for reasons you can see for yoiurself) and a scone on the side. That being much like my great grandmother's recipe, I would have to insist that the pronunciation should be "scawn," especially since there is no comparison to the Starbucks much inferior and over-sweetened "scone." Inside the cafe, the aged brick walls were complemented by an interesting assortment of antiques, and though the tables were close, they felt comfortingly seaparate behind plexiglass shields, subtly located between tables. The service was very attentive and pleasant. Although her face was shielded, her pleasant voice and smiling eyes made us feel welcome. She began predictably with "Can I get you some coffee?" whereupon I glanced down at the menu and spotted the White Russian Coffee. You were wondering where the Lebowski part came in, right? I replied that, being a Dudeist priest, it was my religious obligation to order one. It wasn't the best choice with a breakfast item at lunch, butwhat am I to do? ..."Just sitting here, enjoying my coffee..." Then I thought of something, and took out my camera, as you can see below. How Duderiffic could that be? I could see that our neighbours didn't get any of the references, but our waitress did, and it was all the more fun because she did. Oh, and the leftovers? Those bowls are quite substantial. We shared, and still there were leftovers. Overall, a good deal: Big Lebowski quality at a Dudely price.More
The food here was fantastic, and the service was quite lovely! Would absolutely go back (we went twice on our week trip). The eggs Benedict is really good but the banana walnut pancake is a must try! Thank you!
We are always looking for the quintessential boushie breakfast (e.g., L’Avenue en Montreal). Jam hits all the right notes—from friendly, exceptional (even in a time of cholera) service, to imaginative breakfast entrees that re sure to tantalize the most skeptical morning person. We visited 3...times in 4 days in Vancouver. Thanks Trip Advisor people, for the recommendation. Bang on.More
My 3rd time here, drove by and only 2 set of people ahead, decided to get in the lineup which moved quickly. Service is great, food is awesome. Plexiglass in between each table, disinfect hands before they seat you! I ordered regular breakfast with sausage...patties ( couldn't finish all) shredded hashbrowns in a square, toasted multigrain was too thick and dense, for my liking, overall it's a 4 star, get there early, always a lineup. Meter parking all around. Server was attentive. CheersMore
I live across the street from Jam, and I’ve watched day after day as millennials line up for an hour, hour and a half to get instagram worthy photos of their food. I’ve been there a total of 5 times. The bill for one has...been between 30 and 35 after tip. Hardly a bargain, and the food is just mediocre. What baffles me even more is literally next door is one of the best brunches to be had at Chambar, or down the street at Catch 122 or Flying Pig. So many good options.More
Be prepared to stand in line on the sidewalk (read, bring hat and gloves if in cold weather) and have time to decide your order and change your mind several times - so many choices! Once we got in we were freezing so we ordered...hot drinks (my only beef was the hot cider was over $5). The waitstaff is friendly, the interior is cozy and the food divine. The Nutella French toast was a hit, as was the apple French toast. The pancakes with pulled pork tasted yummy and the corned beef hash skillet was enjoyed.More
Lovely place for breakfast! I tried eggs Benedict and pancakes with coffe! Everything was perfect! Nice people, good food, super service! If you come early, you needn’t stay at queue
Delicious, eclectic brunch. Waited over an hour to get it, so prepare yourself for the line up! Another location in Kits & Victoria too.
Good atmosphere with some sumptuous menu selections. Weekday lunchtimes it gets busy and worth booking ahead. Try the Eggs Benedict. Fast and pleasant service.
