The Crow and Gate pub is southwest of Nanaimo B.C. well worth the 20-25 minute drive. The pub and adjoining home and outbuildings are in true English half-timbered style with lovely gardens where you can also partake in your meal and/or beer. The pub has...More

We ate dinner at the Crow & Gate Pub at the recommendation of the B&B owners where we were staying and we were glad we did. The pub is located in a rural setting with beautifully landscaped and maintained grounds. The pub is full of...More

Even though The Crow and Gate is off the beaten path, it is usually a crowd favourite, especially in the summer months. The outside patio and garden area is superb and is the perfect place for a gathering of friends or an intimate date. The...More

My favourite place to go, the food is incredible, especially the bread pudding with brandy sauce. The atmosphere is a dream come true whether you are inside or outside in the garden

This little pub tucked in the countryside of Cedar outside Nanaimo is worth the drive. The cozy atmosphere is welcoming in the cool days by the fireplace, or in the garden in the summer. Pub fare is on the menu and a wide variety of...More

Great food and competitive prices - steak and mushroom pie! Great wide selection of beers and drinks, popular with us locals too. Very dark inside (like in England!) and beautiful grounds surrounding the building.

In English pubs you have to go to the bar to get drinks & order food, they are trying to replicate this & are doing a very good job, something a bit different for people that have not visited England. Our pub food has improved over the years & is probably still the most popular as don't pay silly restaurant prices, also pub staff don't expect tips !!
