Not easy to find, you have to look for it. They are at a nice location by the Cowichan River, with a big patio overlooking it. The interior is very neutral and clearly needs work. We chose to have our meal at the patio. We had a sample of many dishes they serve. Everything was great, tasted fresh and had... More

Had a lovely lunch at Cowichan's best kept secret cafe! The Riverwalk Cafe is located at the Quwutsun Culteral Centre grounds, right on the River. Let me tell you, the ambience, food and service is nothing short of fab!@!! So delish! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Quwutsun-Cultural-and-Conference-Centre/215136605187484?fref=ts

this was part of our 'staycation' we had been here several times before. The salmon is to die for, had it several ways, all good...that's all we have here, can't beat it , nowhere else does it so well. As for the blackberry pie, out of this world, thick and juicy.

Thank you trip advisor for the recommendation. Couldn't have been better for a quiet family lunch (2 from Canada, 2 from New Zealand and 1 from UK). Enjoyed the meal (seafood salad) and the ambience of the patio overlooking the river. Our servers were brilliant. Food excellently presented and culture and background explained well. Just the place for a sunny... More

if you are lucky to find this place open even in the right season, you can enjoy a great cafe by the river and some native delicacies plus some regular fast made food.

Having just enjoyed a little tour and explanation of this aboriginal group, we needed lunch, hoping for at least a tolerable sandwich. Imagine our delight at the beautiful menu, sophisticated service and lovely setting! We happily ate crab cakes, native breads, a little green salad, with a most refreshing drink of berries and sunflower petals. Simply delicious.

The food here was great. Wonderful selections and the waitresses were the best. Super friendly. Our group included us four southerners from Louisiana and two Californians. We tried the fried salmon and several other dishes. It was hard to choose from the menu. We sat outside on the deck and watched the river flow by while we visited. We give... More

The service, food and location are great. Some different items on the menu worth trying. Just sitting enjoying your meal on the banks of the cowichan river is wonderful

The Riverwalk Cafe is one of my favourite restaurants on Vancouver Island. It's convenient for a lunch trip from either Victoria or Nanaimo, and well worth the drive!! The food - "Native Cuisine" - always tastes extremely fresh, most of the flavour combinations are unique, and all are delicious!! The patio or picnic tables are the places to eat if... More
