There were several large parties when we visited the restaurant. They were getting terrific service and they literally forgot about the rest of us. We had to continually hunt down someone to order more items and to actually get our food. Food was good for the most part, but the chicken and lamb were overcooked. Not the least bit satisfied... We are very sorry that you feel this way. We did buy you some appetizers when you came to complain. I guess this wasn't enough compensation. More

Went to Yannis on 21th of November with friends. We ordered appetizers (tzatziki, cheese spinach cake) first and they were very tasty. Main dishes were good too and meat was very flavoured. Also, our server was very nice and knowledgeable.

Went to Yianni's on Nov 10 with a girlfriend. The atmosphere was great and we sat by the window so we could people-watch on Whyte Avenue. We shared a Mezethes Platter which was more than enough food for two of us and very delicious. It is the atmosphere that is the best part of the restaurant though. It is very... More

We shared a 2 person platter and the food was good. Portions were fairly generous, tasty and cooked well. We'll likely be back.

A friday night, lots of tables available, but nice festive atmosphere. Order a Greek platter MEZETHES (plenty for two), that started with three dips and pita, followed by the second course of Greek salad, dolmades, meatballs, spanakopita, and kalamari. Ok, but nothing was great and the bread was stale, not good for the dips that were the best part of... More

We are very sorry that you were disappointed that we were not Greek enough. We work hard at being authentic in a multicultural country by employing a broad diversity of people. You seemed shocked that after complaining about dry bread we tried to fix this by replacing. It is unclear what we were supposed to do. More

On Whyte Avenue almost next door to the Mettera hotel, provided a delicious feed of lamb with the Greek trimmings including Greek salad, lemon potatoes and baked veggies. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

One of the Better places I have been going to for years...don't get the negative reviews but any restaurant can have a off day...out of the dozens of times I go never had a bad experience...some waiters better than others but usually great service...I agree it has gotten a little pricey but most Greek will run at least $25 per... Went here on a Saturday night for a birthday party. This place has a fun party style atmosphere with a large food menu. Music was loud (but you could still speak without yelling) and they had a belly dancer for entertainment. I split an Athena platter for 2 which included hummus & pita, Greek salad, and flambed cheese (which was... More

The calamari is very good but I find the portions are small and dishes are overpriced compared to other Greek restaurants. Skimpy on pita too. Had reservations but when we arrived, nothing was written in the book and our order took well over an hour to get to our table. The potatoes were about 2/3 cooked. Won't be going there... More

Description
Yiannis serves Greek food that is inspired by traditional recipes and healthy living. Our chef, James Anast, tries to encompass every aspect of Greek cookery, from its inherent healthfulness, to its history and customs in our menu. We are located in our own building on trendy and historic Whyte Ave and have a warm and ambient room that evokes thoughts of the Mediterranean. To further enhance your dining experience there is belly-dancing on weekends and a beautiful Moroccan lounge in our lower floor for you to sip some tasty libations before or after your dinner.
