It seems to be a popular spot for Cajun food so tried it out after a few recommendations. The ambience was good in that the decor fits with the theme, though I found the tastes of the food was on the bland side sadly.

We call this restaurant our safe always consistent go to when in Alberta. We ordered special of fried Green tomatoes which was a first for us and they were great. Dinners ordered were natchez shrimp it was great full of flavour, jamalaya always good and chicken with waffles also very tasty. A lovely restaurant always friendly with great tasting food

Last minute lunch idea based on many recommendations to go here. The Bonton chicken was a tiny thin chicken breast with some provolone and a piece of Canadian bacon on top. Not a lot of flavour and no spice. The Cajun catfish Po boy was very similar. A nice piece of catfish that was flaky and tender but lacked much... More

Louisiana purchase has been my favorite restaurant since the ealy 90s. I have eaten there probably over 100 times. I have left previously excellent review for this place. After my visit yesterday I can no longer keep this all to myself. My last 2 visits there were NOT good. During my visit in December the friend I treated to dinner... More

My boyfriend and I decided to go here for his birthday. Everyone was very friendly and we were seated right away. We got the shrimp to start and it was honestly amazing. I got the cherry coke ribs for my main dish and they were to die for as well. My boyfriend got the fried chicken and he said it... More

Have dined here many times. The jambalaya is spiced authentically, and appetizers are good. Service is swift and friendly---and there's lots of parking. If you can't make it to New Orleans, this is a decent substitute!

The looks of this restaurant as well as its atmosphere are truly awesome. Some real nice, and exotic dining choices on the menu. The food itself is good, service is excellent and friendly. All in all a good dining experience for a night out.

If you like spicy meals... then this is the place for you..!!! A little hard to find... very nondescript exterior... BUT... the interior is beautiful... dark wood floors... an upper and lower seating area... exposed bricks... and pictures reminiscing New Orleans... Louis Armstrong and his trumpet and area photos of days gone by...!!! Excellent warm ambiance made you feel comfortable... More

Each of our party of six enjoyed a flavourful meal. Portions were generous and all of them were served piping hot, which, although expected, is not always the case. Service was pleasant and very efficient on a quiet Monday evening. The beverage menu was also larger than expected with some creative offerings. One suggestion would be to include prices on... More

I didn't know what to expect when my partner and I visited Louisiana Purchase for the first time. Even though it's been in Edmonton for almost 30 years, the location is sort of tucked away in the Oliver neighbourhood. And with all of the new restaurants cropping up in the city, I've rarely heard talk of it. I was also... More
