Amazing food, great service, unique atmosphere. It will be the first place we go back to once restaurants are open again. I can’t say enough about this place.

I maintain that Workshop is only Calgary restaurant that measures up to international competition in terms of adventurous preparation and food quality. Novel presentation and flavours and, most importantly, tasty. This particular visit, I want to single out the carrot appetizer and the mushroom/leek pasta....I am not a vegetarian, but these dishes were fantastic, and these were the best carrots I have had anywhere.More

A friend and I went prior to a show and enjoyed a delicious cocktail...during the 20 minute break at around 8.15pm (they close at 9) we went to enjoy a beverage. Standing at the bar we were ignored by two members of staff on many...occasions. After around 3-4 minutes we walked further down to ask the bartender if we could order 2 drinks. His response was extremely rude!! He told us ‘ No we are not taking anymore tables’ and he wasn’t going to serve us. The tone in which I spoke to us was nothing short of appalling. We would have taken all of 15 minutes to finish a drink. Bare in mind there were big tables with people still drinking and dining, therefore we wouldn’t be putting them out in regards to cleaning and cashing up. Terrible, terrible service. Upon speaking with the owner his response was ‘it’s not a bar’. Fair to say we shall not be visiting any time soon. It’s a shame really because it’s a very aesthetically pleasing place.More

I had the five course tasting menu. The food was delicious and the service was warm and friendly. I sat at the bar which was located next to the open kitchen. It was a fantastic experience to watch the chefs. The dishes had a variety...of great flavor profiles combined seamlessly.More

Great discovery - funky atmosphere in the old Grand Theatre. Hostess warm and welcoming, service and food exceptional. very diverse combinations of flavours. The Improv Menu (chef's choices) sounded interesting but the entire table has to participate. It was easy to talk, and listen, to...others at the table which is important to me. Definitely be back soon, thanks for the great experience!More

Perfectly cooked flatiron steak with gnocchi and veggies - my wife had the salmon and enjoyed it very much - the atmosphere and the service were a great addition to a fantastic evening of theatre

Great find! We were looking for a place to have a bite for lunch today and fortunately, we happened upon this place. The food was really good, I had the lunch menu - salad, with chipotle chicken tacos and brownies (and a lemon posset because...the waiter was nice :-)) Everyone else had a burger, the chips were awesome, some of the nicest I’ve had, real potatoes, crispy and served with a very garlicky aioli - yum. Portions were spot on - two burgers between two kids and an adult - everyone ate well and nothing was left at the end. A great find and I’ll definitely be back.More

Delicious! Gnocchi, pickerel, chicken dumplings, cauliflower - everything was superb. Highly highly recommend Workshop Kitchen + Culture. The space, no matter where you're seated is unreal. The service is friendly and personable, happy to make recommendations but also leave you to your meal and your...company. LOVE it!More

This hipster-oriented open kitchen and bar in the basement of a theatre appears to mostly serve well-off urbanite professionals. On a recent Friday, it offered a short but strong and original menu of mains ranging from beef to fish to vegetarian options. On the plus...side, our pan-fried arctic char on a bed of chorizo-seasoned cheese grits with green beans was excellent. The gnocchi with mushrooms, herbs and truffle oil didn’t come off as well. Service was good, except that when we ordered a bottle of wine, what was opened and poured for us at the table wasn’t what we ordered. When we called the server back to point that out, she said, “oh, I forgot to tell you we changed that.” They also offer three-course and five-course “improv” tasting menus, but since you don’t know what the chef will deliver, it’s a roll of the dice best attempted by regulars and the adventurous.More

We have the daily choice from the menu. So glad we did. Waiter did ask first if there were any allergies. We don't but 100's out there do. Food came to the table hot and it was such a relief to have local cuisine with...a hint of middle Eastern. Everything that we had was excellent can not say one negative thing about the mealMore
