Carino has recently changed to the JJ Ramen bar and I attended on their soft opening. The great news is the the Ramen is just as good as it always has been. Bad news is that the Italian-Japanese fusion dishes are gone. Despite that, this is the best Ramen in Calgary. I love this place.

The food is great, I knocked one point off because the ramen soup base really is too salty. If that's down a notch it's pretty much the best ramen in Calgary. The pork belly is the best I have had out of all the ramen I had that featured pork belly as a topping, including the ones in Japan. The... More

My boyfriend and I went for dinner and I've been dreaming about it since! We started off with the pickled chicken wings which were super tasty. I had the miso-cured chicken cutlets risotto. The chicken reminded me of my favorite meal in Hawaii and everything inside the risotto paired very nicely. Not one thing I did not like on my... More

Was pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant. The mix of Japanese and Italian flavour was delicious. We tried the duck, duck, duck, and waygu. Both were delicious!

Had ramen here for lunch with my kids, and loved it. The noodles were perfect, the broth divine. I ordered the duck ramen. So tasty! I decided to go back with the hubby and friends for dinner, and I really built up the ramen. However, there was no ramen on the menu! It's only a lunchtime thing. Looking at the... More

I visited the restaurant with my family for the first time and it was really great! Service was excellent and all the plates were sent back clean, the presentation and flavours were superb. Zero complaints, will visit again soon.

Not many Japanese restaurants are actually run by Japanese people, and even fewer when their passions are rooted in Italian cuisine. The folks from Carinos have impressive resumes, and their restaurant here is so clearly a passion product made possible by their talents. Their love and appreciation for hand-crafted Italian dishes are done in the only way they know how... More

This has possibly one of the most innovative menus I have ever seen. I'm often suspicious of "very odd" food combinations, because I don't believe just being weird makes something good. Well, after an incredible meal here, I must say that the chef knows what he is doing! Who knew Japanese-Italian fusion could work so well?

Very unique cuisine extremely well prepared. Braised lamb ribs were fabulous. German Pinot noir offered is a new favourite. Great service
