Living in Calgary puts you at the doorstep of some of the world's most incredible scenery. A moderate hike of about 2 hours has you enjoying tea and scones at the teahouse

This Tea House is the hike reward, hidden between glaciers, you'll have to take a 2 hrs beautiful hike to go there (no vehicles available) going across Louise Lake and going up to the mountains. There are many panoramic views that you can even photograph or just enjoy. The hike is good for beginners but requires lots of energy and... More

We went up as a group and it was spectacular. After 9 days of hiking both in the Banff area and Glacier National Park, this was one of our top two favorite hikes. The first thirty minutes around the lake is flat and beautiful. This is a good option for those who don't want to climb. The tea house was... More

Such a wonderful hike to both tea houses. Service was quite quick despite it being quite crowded. We were here in 1973 and they remain quite the same. Beautiful scenery!!!

Thank you so much. I am one of the original family owners, and I strived to maintain the same feeling as in the 70's. Fun, quick service, simple wholesome meals, ...... More

At noon on Sunday, 18 Sept., we started the 3.3 mile, 1215’ gain, hike from the trailhead on the Lake Louise shore walk 600’ from the Fairmont Chateau. At 2:16 pm we arrived at the tea house in the wilderness built by the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1924. There is a viewpoint near the tea house with restrooms just a... More

We walked up from the main Lake Louise car park, around 6kms away, so we were ready for a break when we arrived. Note that we took 4 hours to do the hike including stops for pictures and lunch here. As it was the last week the tea house was open for the season choices were a little limited, but... More

We began our hike around the lakeshore of Lake Louise, and before we knew it, we were well on our way to the teahouse. It was more grueling for my husband than myself, but I was enjoying the challenge. We saw the helicopter fly in several times, carrying tethered packages, and then learned that they were making deliveries, so there... More

We enjoyed this stop on our hike of the Plain of Six Glaciers. We enjoyed the tea, which helped us warm up on a chilly day, but the soup and homemade bread were also good. Even though it was crowded (we got to the tea house around lunch time), we were still able to get a seat right away by... More

We are not sure why the chocolate cake was so good. Was it the hike up the hill, was it the elevation, was it the view. Whatever it was, we loved it! The tea house is primitive and they were super busy even on a rainy cold day. The service was slow, but we didn't care, since we weren't in... More

If you hike, have a cup of tea and pastry at the tea house. Cool place with real authentic alpine feel to the kitchen. All heavy food stuff are helicopter in twice a year and or hand carry into the tea house. Items are reasonably price. If you need to use the Toilets - hold your breath or do it... More
