Beautiful little village highly recommend Polly’s cottage a pit stop on route to Dovedale the best sausage rolls ever and friendly helpful owner. Can’t wait to come back soon Peak District is my favourite place ❤️

Little halfway stop

We walked to here from dovedale and it was a nice little halfway spot to stop for a drinks and icecream. Icecream tastied great. Payment is cash only so bare that in mind if you want to stop there for food and drinks.

The ice-creams hit the spot

It's the place you really want to find when you've been hiking through the Peak District. The ice-creams hit the spot, as do the hot pasties... Make sure and bring some cash though, being very very rural the internet is almost non existent so paying...by card is iffyMore

Visit to Milldale

Visited Milldale today as this was home to some of my ancestors, who were involved in the building of Duck cottage. Had tea and cake which we drank/ate by the river. The young chap who served us was very polite and chatty. Tea was a...good brew!More

Lovely ice cream

Visited earlier today for two ice creams. Cherry bakewell flavour and rum and raisin. Both were amazing. Highly recommend supporting this lovely little local business

What a lovely visit.

Myself and my family visited Milldale today. We sat and watched the ducks while enjoying a cracking cuppa and delicious hot pasty for lunch. The owners are wonderful and so thoughtful. Really lovely customer service. Despite it clearly being a popular place for tourists qnd...walkers it maintains it's blissful tranquility and Polly's reflects that with their easy going nature and eye for detail. Absolutely love the place and will be back regularly.More

Half way walk from Dovedale

Stopped off at Polly's, we had Staffordshire pasty and Bovril for both of us. Been before 5years ago and will go back again. Excellent service.

Tea break.

Stumbled across Pollys whilst walking. Fabulous! Serving takeaways as COVID, but had lovely teas, Staffordshire pasty and jumbo sausage roll. Great to sit by the River Dove to enjoy. Great little business. Well done.

I appreciate that your cafe is affected by the weather, but all I can find on the internet is "open in summer, closed in winter." When do these seasons start and stop? We are visiting Dovedale straight from home on Tuesday. (therefore arriving in Milldale at about 1pm) Are we likely to find the cafe open or do we need to bring our own refreshments?

Apologies for the slight delay in response!! Polly’s Cottage is open 7 days a week from 1st April or Easter (whichever starts first) to end of October Half Term. We are then open Boxing Day to New Years Day, February Half... More

They sell through a hatch window from the front room of their cottage, very twee. There are benches/seats close by for tourists to sit on but we always sit on the river bank which is very relaxing. Seasonally they sell good... More
