We stopped in El Candil after swimming. I especially went for the French Dip. It was great. Even my dog enjoyed it. He got to go on the patio, (which he loves). The patio is covered in bougainvillea and is shaded. Onewoman was sitting on the patio and using the Wifi, which is free. We had a great meal and... More

Great food! We ordered the fajitas - so very good! They have "American food" but why bother? Order their local specialties and you won't be disappointed-- all is prepared with care and the garden out back is lovely. Service friendly - just need a bit of Spanish to communicate well. Would be happy to eat here again.

The menu has lots of hamburger variations and pizza (WARNING: if you are from the East Coast of Estados Unidos, you should run in the other direction from the pizza.) But if you plumb the menu for squid and other sea fare, you will be pleasantly surprised.

You would never think a Mexican restaurant would have great pizza, but they do. My friend is vegetarian, so we both got a vegetarian pizza with cheese. It was fantastic. One thing about El Candil, they are consistent. The man who used to own it, sold it to his employees. They know what it takes to keep customers coming back.... More

We have gone here several times after getting tired of taquerias. Good burgers and a nice atmosphere. You will find mostly tourists eating around you.

The locals all call the place Scotty's, we haven't met Scotty yet but he has a great spot DEEP DEEP in the heart of Baja. The place is in the old part of town and you half way expect the see Butch and Sundance on the stool next to you plotting the next bank robbery. A lot of history in... More

Best fish tacos in Baja (and I've tried them all). The food is great, but you'll want to try the fish tacos for sure. Quiet, relaxed setting in the center of a beautiful, historic town.

We go on Thursdays just for the French dip sandwichs. But, order the salad, not the fries. The salad is superb! Of course, there is lettuce, AND, avocado, cucumber, red and yellow bell peppers. They have Negro Modelo on tap too. It is a great beer that is not found often on tap. Basically, you can eat for $5.50 American....great... More
