Came here as read trip advisor reviews and it was only 5 miles from where we were picking up friends. We all four enjoyed our meals. My tomato soup and pork main were delicious ,well cooked and presented.Would be happy to eat here again.
We can't ask for any more than guests following recommendations from satisfied customers on Trip Advisor and going away as more satisfied customers. Delighted that you enjoyed it and very much hope that you will indeed eat with us again. More
We arrived here at lunchtime and were seated by the window on a lovely sunny day. Our meals included grilled salmon fillet, sirloin steak, steak and ale pie and child's chicken goujons. All of them were very tasty, nicely presented and very good value. The service was top class and very friendly. The local Hooky beers were perfect as was the... More
We will very much look forward to seeing you again. Thank you for your kind words. More
Trinkets, souvenirs, gifts, food and drinks. Don't forget the lovely lady behind the bar. Great little stop on such a busy road. Tasty Pub grub (really is just pub grub, but good) lovely drinks choice, little shopping and great company. What more can you want. Very relaxed atmosphere with an open fire and comfy sofas. The staff are so welcoming,... More
Thank you for your honest review, and for the high praise. I am exremely sorry if I have come over as abrupt (could I have been having a bad day? still no excuse), could it be my terrible sense of humour! Whatever it was I sincerely apologise, both Julie (the lovely lady behind the bar) and I try to make... More
This is not the easiest place to find. The postcode put into your sat nav leaves you about 1and a half miles short. Just carry on the main road when the sat nav says you have reached your destination and you will come to it. Do not turn off towards Compton Abdale as you will be going the wrong way. Having... More

We had Sunday lunch recently which was excellent. This is not our first visit and will not be our last.

The location is just perfect, being centrally located, just a short drive to the jewels of the Cotswolds; Bourton-on-the-water, Burford and Upper & Lower Slaughter I pre-booked this accomodation from Australia for a 2 night stay to see the Cotswolds and my wife and I are so glad we did. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner Julie... More
Thank you Tony and Emma for your review. We so enjoyed the "banter" and loved having you to stay, we remember you fondly. If ever you are around we would be very upset if you didn't come and see us!! So pleased that you loved what we do so much. Hope to see you soon. More
We came across this surprisingly quiet restaurant for lunch travelling back to Wales from Oxford having passed the usual roadside eateries/garden centres and so glad we did. Excellent service, good menu, delicious food and relaxing ambient surroundings . I can't recommend them highly enough. A welcome break indeed!!
We do have very varied levels of trade, some days it is incredibly busy others can be quiet as it was when you visited, we never know which it will be. We do have a large car park and sometimes we think people look and think if it's quiet it can't be good. Hopefully your review and many others before... More
Went for dinner here whilst on holiday in the Cotswolds and loved it. From the very friendly welcome by the owners and hosts to the great food and even the little gift shop with outstanding quality items (definitely none of your "tourist tat"). They also have rooms as well but we didn't see them so can't comment. All in all... More
It is always our ultimate objective to provide great value and so we are delighted that you feel that we achieve just that. We aim to be a bit of a calm oasis where our guests can enjoy a drink or a meal or light snack and a wee browse round the gift shop whether they live locally are travelling... More
