This place was shut and is currently undergoing refurbishment to build a set of holiday flats that are due for completion on 2017. . However when we in the area for 2 weeks in July no building work was being done so don't hold your breath!!

Heard lots of good things about this pub/restaurant so walked 2 miles from Hope Cove to find it closed for redevelopment for this season. A great shame.

First time review of a place we've visited 18 times. That speaks for itself. Ideal location, comfortable rooms, delicious dining and wonderful people. For all of you who have left less than favourable reviews - they don't claim to be The Hilton or an overpriced 'boutique' hotel: it's the pefect place for a wonderful holiday.

We were searching for the harbour lights which we could not find so..thinking this was the same place we drove for miles to find it for a Sunday early evening dinner on bank holiday, not only was it closed but utterly deserted which was a great disappointment - this should have been the busiest weekend and not even a "sorry"... As previously mentioned, we close during the afternoons for the peace and tranquilly of our residents. We have successfully done this for 25 years and it works very nicely thank you! More

This restaurant had been recommended to us by a friend and we decided to try it on a Saturday night. We pulled up quite late in the evening and our first impression was that it was very quiet - there were quite a few occupied tables but no one was talking! That could have been down to the time of... The Port Light offers a good range if freshly-made sandwiches and hot food on the coastal path between Salcombe and Hope Cove. We have found refuge here a number of times over the years....in fair weather and foul. We have always received a warm welcome and good, wholesome food. Today was no exception: wonderful crab sandwiches and Cornish bitter.

Dad, who lives in Thurlestone, quite often takes us all to the Port Light for family lunches. The Port Light is what it is.......good, honest food in healthy portions in a superb location! Agreed the décor is not up-to-date, but that's part of its charm. Have been meaning to write a review for some time as there was mass upset... More

We were walking along the coastline and wanted to stop here for lunch. Location is great ... so we had high hopes. However: when we ordered at the bar, it was a very sticky place to put your hands ... wet and sticky. Not a good first impression. Wifi (the board suggested it was there) was only for residents -... We are sorry that we did not offer our usual high standard however on the day in question we were caught out with a massive volume of customers. We have 30 covers inside and on that day we did 96 covers! A 30 minute wait does not seem unreasonable during very busy lunchtime and it was very obvious it was... More

We went to Port Light a couple of evenings just for a drink as we were staying just round the corner, a lovely young lady served us and on just our second visit she knew our drinks order. After this we decided to go back for a meal and again she recognised us and knew our drinks order. She really... More

We had two superb meals at this restaurant, set in a beautiful location with stunning views of sunset. The staff are excellent ,friendly and most efficient. There is a good selection of food on the menu. However ,both times we went our evenings were spoilt by selfish guests who evidently could not control their dogs` behaviour . We had to... More
