Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The restaurant was busy and had a nice atmosphere. Family friendly with a childrens menu. Excellent fresh food. Portions were generous and piping hot. Pleasant staff, beautiful sea views, great Guinness and the best fish and chips ever! Light crispy batter on the fish. An...absolute pleasure to eat here. So good we had to go back the next day! Perfect!More

The location of the sea view tavern is stunning and the rooms look right out into it. Glorious seascape. The hotel was very comfortable and staff so friendly. You must have the shrimp sandwich for lunch. The crab and mussel linguine is the best we’ve...tasted anywhere in the world. Worth making a visit just for that!More

We came here as this was recommended by our host: great advice! This is the best restaurant we had so far in Ireland. The fish was very good/fresh and the side dishes tasty. As the main dishes were good we decided to try the dessert...and weren’t disappointed.More

We sat out in the conservatory which may have been a mistake as we were certainly out of sight and as it turned out, out of mind. We shared the intriguingly named Baked Crabs toes which were actually crabs claws in garlic butter. Not bad...but I suspect previously frozen. Shame really as the whole restaurant overlooks the lovely bay, no fishing or crabbing done here? The disappointment set in when my Donegal mussels arrived. Overcooked by maybe 10 minutes the now little raisin sized mussels had been drown in a pint of cream into which had been thrown some onion. No fresh herbs, no pepper, no garlic just a pint of cream and a quarter of an onion. Yuk. Wifey had the Crab mornay. This had clearly been frozen because as she got to the bottom it was swimming in water. We had to go find service to refresh drinks, go find service to ask for the bill, go find service to actually pay.. Avoid if possible..More

It’s about a 30 min drive. I don’t know how much a taxi would be. Maybe €40.
