Walking distance from the home we were lent by a friend from home (Chicago). Paddy was a lovely young man, great Guinness, but truly the best Smithwicks I have ever had. So clean and crisp! Good luck in college, Paddy! (Food is not served)

Had a great time in Mickey's bar with a few friends. Such a pleasant surprise. A good old fashioned traditional Irish pub with some very interesting art, a lovely stove and great staff. Love it.
Lovely local Irish pub. Dropped in for a few pints when staying locally. Good bar man chatty but not pushy. Seems to have stopped doing food but still well worth a visit.
Passed by here a few times over weekend so decided to pop in for a drink. Decor is a typical old style pub. No frills. 2 tvs hanging in each corner. Only 2 channels (on 1 of them anyway). Staff were fine. Not overly friendly.... Seemed like they were family. Didnt realise they did food until i saw this review page. We certainly werent advised of it and i saw no evidence. Pool table which is always good to entertain kids..More
Wknd away in achil & popped into mickeys bar. What a lovely spot & the staff are sound and so chatty. We had called here before and had the chowder fab it is . Defo worth a stop and we will be back soon. Im...holding the owner to mayo tickets for the all ireland final 😉More
Popped in here whilst on a walk and a good pitstop it is too. They serve food but as I didn't eat I can't comment on it. My pint was nice and the setting is nice too so all in all a good experience.
Mickeys bar is a fantastic little bar along the Atlantic drive on Achill Island. The seafood is always fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the crab claws with garlic butter. The coffee is also very good.
Located on part of the roads for the Wild Atlantic way, the Local Pub has been standing there for many years. Recently swapped hands, the whole bar has gone through a bit of decoration and some needed improvements. The food is good, fresh and great...for seafood lovers. Worth a quick stop as you travel the rugged coastline in Achill.More
Mickeys bar is on the Atlantic Drive in beautiful Achill Island, from the outside it looks just like an ordinery country pub, but the food is brilliant, if you like seafood chouder its beautiful, I believe the owners are fishermen themselves and serve the freshest...of fish. The rest of the food is cooked to order using fresh ingredients.More
This is a great local bar just up from the beach and serving great bar food throughout the summer. The seafood platter and mussels are great!
My favourite place for mussels in all of the Westport/Achill area, they were fabulous. We stopped here for lunch after cycling the cliff side of the island all morning, so when we staggered in we were exhausted and more than a little thirsty. Thankfully the...welcome was lovely, the service was quick and the food was lovely. I really enjoyed the mussels, and would go back there for those alone. My husband has an extensive and very enjoyable seafood chowder and enjoyed that too. On the outside this place doesn't really look like much, but it's well worth a stop as you won't be disappointed.More
We stopped at Mickeys Bar on our way to Keem Bay and we have to say that it was well worth the stop. The welcome we received was warm and friendly, the girl who served us was very knowledgeable about the food and the area...and was quick and pleasant. The food is very well priced and as I ordered the sea food platter I can say it was one of the tastiest I have ever eaten. The food is fresh and plentiful and everyone agreed it was well worth the money, also have a pint of Guinness it was fantastic. Mickeys is a lovely little pub to stop at on your tour around Achill.More
Very small venue inside. Decent menu - opted for a panini with fries - this was grand, though a little sloppily put together. Staff were attentive but not the most friendly. Honestly, I'd probably drive on next time.
17 of us 'dropped in' or lunch with no notice. I was afraid the staff would be phased by this but they took it all in their stride. Everyone was served promptly, the food was fresh and tasty and everyone was very happy. The crab...claws and mussels were big hits.More
We stopped here for lunch and received a great welcome from friendly staff and lovely food - staff were polite and friendly
