We stumbled on this place by chance and saw a huge line for take out and dining and it was full of locals. We knew we had to try it. Boy were we glad we waited! This place was the real deal. It is worth...the wait. Best tacos in Tulum! Everything was delicious…you really can’t go wrong. We ate here everyday we could during our time in Tulum. The guys are still dreaming about the lechon and asada.More

We came here for some lunch and couldn't believe the queues to get in! It's totally worth it and we see why there's such a queue! I am a vegetarian and even so, the tacos were absolutely delicious. Our party also tried the meat tacos...which were outstanding also. Will definitely return to join that queue if we make it back to Mexico!More

I was there during very busy hours and they were out of relleno negro and poc chuc which was pretty sad. The cochonita and lechon were both very good though. Staff was amazing. It was a 20 minute wait.

We were there at 08.00 so it was easy to get a table but it was still busy. There was quite a queue out on the street waiting for takeouts. A good atmosphere inside with a mix of locals and 'visitors'. The staff were friendly...and helpful. The food? We couldn't fault it. 4 veggie tacos, 2 fruit juices and 1 americano coffee for less than 200 pesos. A great example of an authentic Mexican experience .More

Worth the trek into town. Worth the wait and the chaos. Their system for waiting in line and seating people is a bit confusing ( send someone to stand in line and another to the front to put your name on a list - not...sure which is supposed to get you in faster.) Good, fast service. Totally inexpensive. Don’t miss the cochinitq pibil - best taco on the menu. (Actually order more than one!) They give you a host of toppings for the tacos. I tried but personally didn’t enjoy the poc chuc and my friend got the chicken which was okay but a little underwhelming. I wish we were more hungry when we got here to try other tacos too. Definitely make a point to go here if you can.More

First of all, if you want authentic food in Tulum, this is your stop. Of course, we tried the cochinita pibil and the relleno negro tacos - both were excellent! I wish we had time to come here every day in our trip. Get there...early so you don't have to wait. They serve food until they run out...and they will. We will make this a regular stop on our Tulum trips. They have table service and take credit cards. I read about Taqueria Honorio in "Hungry" the travel memoir which follows Rene Redzepi through his journey to reinvent Noma (CPH). The author travels with Rene Redzepi and his team through Mexico, and speak highly of the traditional ways the food is prepared here. It was so great to experience it first hand. This restaurant started as a food cart and has grown to a full size restaurant with table service, and they continue to cook and honor the traditional ways of the Yucatan. We made friends with two staff members at the hotel we were staying at in Tulum, they invited us for breakfast at Taqueria Honorio to show us an authentic meal of Tulum - this made our experience even more special!More

we waited no more than 3 minutes for a table at 12:30 on a wednesday. they were efficiently getting people in and out during the (always) busy lunch hour, but not rushing or pushing anyone. the cochinita pibil is what they are famous for and...it did not disappoint. we tried one of everything but got two cochinita pibil and it was both of our favorites! go to this place :)More

So my mom is Mexican and she can cook some awesome tacos. This place? Blew her out of the water! (Hopefully she doesn't read this) My goodness! So tasty and full of flavor! The pickled onions really give it a kick! Whole the place is...not out there by looks; their service and food make up for it! I mean, that is why you're coming to this Taqueria right? To eat? The missus and I ordered a few quesadillas and tacos (of course) with arroz con Leche. 😋 It was the best! Go check them out and see why this place deserves your business!More
