Good authentic Peruvian food flavor, nice place and service. I'll go back in my next visit to Playa for sure!!! The good thing is that if you don't see it in the menu they can make it for you.

My wife and I come here everytime we are in Playa. It is delicious .....period! My wife is Peruvian and she can testify that it is authentic food. The service is great and the owner is always on hand to get feedback. Ask him for a Pisco Sour and you'll think you were in Peru. It's away from the noise... More

I live in Playa and I will be a regular at Don Peru. I studied in Peru and love Peruvian food. Last year when friends from Lima visited I said the only thing missing in Playa was a Peruvian restaurant. Well wishes do come true. We had seco de res and chupe de camaron and both were very good. Can't... More

We had a group of 7 people so we had the chance to try a variety of menu items. The lomo salteado was very good but the general consensus was that the rest of the food was marginal and the drinks were not great. Prices are on the high side so we will not be back.

We didn't actually eat at Don Peru, but stayed at the lovely Barrio Latino hotel next door. Don Peru never seemed to have more than one table dining there every time we passed, the lone table diners consistently looked depressed at their choice of eatery. Unfortunately for us despite the lack of clientele, Don Peru insist on playing loud music,... More

Since I'm a Peruvian myself, I was excited during my trip to PDC to know that I could find a Peruvian restaurant there. So, I decided to give it a try. My girlfriend and I went for dinner and I ordered fish ceviche and she had arroz con mariscos (seafood paella) and a couple drinks. Did not bother to ask... More

I came to Don Peru, with an understanding idea on the food, like everyone else in the world, the common fear we all have is trying new food. As a recieved my food it melted into my mouth with flavours, just wonderful juicy food, everything is great, the food, the atmosphere, and the music oh god, that just sets the... More

We met Miguel last year at the Iberostar and wanted to visit his restaurant during our visit to Playa del Carmen. It was off the beaten path a little bit but well worth the adventure. Miguel was very excited to see us and enthusiastically went over his menu. The girls ordered a bowl of the Sopa de Polla and an... More

I simply don't understand why any one would give this place top ratings! It does have a good feeling to it when you enter the restaurant, no doubt about that. They play nice latino music and it's well decorated. My eyes soon fell on the 4-5 large pro pictures of top chefs, one of them peruvian top chef Gaston Acurio.... More
