The Pollo Cubano dish was amazingly well marinated and delicious. The other main dish we got, though, was like eating Manwich/sloppy joes dumped on a plate. It was tasteless. The bean and rice side dish was also under-spiced and very bland. The mojitos were watered down and had very little rum. Service was so-so, the waitress was friendly but distracted... More

Service is great. Food is good but barely Cuban. Go here not for cuban food but for a decent meal at a good price. Don't for get to dance your but off to the local live bands.

I only went there for an after work drink, and I was more than pleasantly surprised by how good their mojitos were. The music is great, not the best place to chat but definetly to dance and listen to latin music. This is a must in Playa.

Busy place. Service is not the best. We got there around 10PM, nobody to greet us at the door, so we just walked in and got a table. Serving staff didn't even notice us for 15 minutes. "Mojito" drinks are OK, not enough alcohol on it. I've had better Mojitos at other places. Live music is great, nice atmosphere, good... More

We wanted something different than Mexican and we had not tried Cuban food so we took a chance. Loved the atmosphere of this restaurant on 5th Avenue. Loved all the "graffiti" on everything, walls, lamps, etc. The place was pretty busy and we were there at 6.30. There was a waiter teaching 6 adults to salsa dance and later came... More

The music and atmosphere is what I loved most about this restaurant. There was a live band playing and a space for dancing. I love Latin music! The food and drinks were decent, but not really a restaurant I would rush to return to. I've heard great things about this chain so maybe I just caught them on an off... More

We had a good experience with the service and the food was good. The mojitos were minty and sweet well balanced, we also enjoyed the micheladas which were citrusy and tangy. As an entrée ordered the plato mixto cubano, the aguachile, and the ceviche that we enjoyed very much.

This was one of our favorite places to hang out! We had a lot of Mojitos! Mauricio was our waiter and he is fun, attentive and made sure our Mojitos were on point every time we showed up! Excellent food and music too! This will be our first stop when we come back in town!

While walking up 5th avenue, we heard some salsa music and decided to stop in and dance some. The live band was on point. The dance floor was good as well and the space was sufficient.

Description
La Bodeguita del Medio was founded in Cuba in the 1940s as a corner store owned by Angel Martinez. The store became a meeting place for local artists who enjoyed getting together for an afternoon 'Mojito'. The place has preserved the ambiance of the romantic Carribean lifestyle that flourished with Havana. Today the Bodeguita del Medio is famous world wide for Salsa music, fine cigars, its original Mojitos and having guests write their thoughts and comments on the walls of the restaurant.
