Most everybody loves Wayan'e and most everybody is right. Had lunch here yesterday. Castacan with cheese, pollo hulk and pok chuc. Terrific food, friendly service, cold Cokes. Breakfast or lunch here, dinner at Apoala, that's a good day of eating. Only wish we'd had time for another meal here.

Maybe I went on an off day because I had heard a lot of good reviews about this place, but the tacos were underwhelming (cold, mushy). I had many, many better tacos at different taco stands around Merida and throughout the Yucatan Peninsula. Was at the location on 59th

If you love tacos (who doesn't??) the Wayan'e chain of restaurants will always leave you satisfied, and strangely enough craving for more. They have so many different kinds of tacos, for all tastes, that you can visit and revisit and always want to come back for more.

We enjoyed a variety of tacos at this restaurant during our recent two week trip to Merida. They were delicious! They are not typical Mexican food tacos that we know from the States. I would recommend a special trip to this place to sample the variety and flavors. You won't be disappointed.

We trudged here in 92 degree weather in search of the perfect taco. Like a mirage wayan'e appeared. It's large with many dozens of seats and tables. We started with pork belly tacos with cheese, complemented by 3 kinds of sauce. Egg and nopales came next, chicken and then a beer and chorizo taco- I think! Generous portions and great... More

The servers went out of their way to explain the menu to us by bringing us right up to the area where the food was being prepared. Lots of fun pointing and selecting our taco fillings.

This tiny restaurant is a favourite of ours. Our first visit was last year and we returned on our vacation this year. Large portions and big taste. We order the chicken fajita and carne chorizo tacos ( both with cheese). Also the Wayan'e special as a torta. We arrived at 12:15. Food came quickly even though it was busy. Some... More

If you are looking for "greasy pleasures" after few drinks to many this is a must visit place. Local, authentic only open during the day.

Best. Tacos. Ever. Open only in the mornings until mid day, this THE place you must visit to try their multiple guisos. In tacos or tortas, you will not be disappointed and the best dish of them all, IMO, is Castakan con Queso. Heart attack? Probably. But you will die with a smile on your face and greasy fingers.

It's difficult to describe just how good these tacos were!!! We enjoyed the pollo y cilantro, enfrijolada, and a couple of others along with two beautifully colorful aguas, jamaica and chaya con pina. Very friendly service, too! We visited the location at Calle 59 and 46 on the recommendation of our host, Chef Alex, at Hotel Julamis. Alex said to... More
