If you are in the neighborhood and want an inexpensive but fresh seafood lunch, this place is fine. We enjoyed the ceviche.

We had shrimp soup and mojo de ajo (garlic marinated) fish (think it was marlin). The soup was tasteless. It came with corn chips. The fish was served with a tossed salad with a nice mustard based dressing, rice, and machine-made corn tortillas. The rice was way too salty, but we managed to get it down anyway. We had fresh... You cannot get fresher fish than this unless you catch it and eat it on the boat. Great ceviche, espceally the octopus in it's own ink.

This was the foodie part of our vacation, overall we were very pleased with our selection and wanted to share thoughts. 1. Marlin Azul: hidden gem that could be easily missed. You can dine in, but we saw many people taking out because the space is quite small and it has a hole-in-the wall feel. What we ate: guacamole and... More

This place is easy to miss as it has a small street-front open with small tables lined up along one wall. There's actually an air-conditioned dining room attached, but I'm told it's fairly freezing and no daylight is allowed to penetrate the windows. That being said, I've eaten there 3 times and had lovely fried fish, a large " vuelva... More

We went with an English speaking Guide, Suri who was wonderful and charged with giving us the Street Food Tour with Adventures Mexico. We had sampled several food items in the old main market and then went to Marlin for seafood. One side is open and one air conditioned. My son had the shrimp cocktail although Suri recommened the Ceviche... More

Where to go for the best Shrimp Fajitas in Merida? Marlin Azul! No pretense here. AC on one side through seperate entrance on the street. Very basic inside. Not the place to impress your date with the decor! Main entrance is a tad better setting but no AC.

Located in the best part of central Merida. Not air conditioned. Few tables for 3 people. Ceiling fans were adequate. Seafood fresh, tasty, varied. Try shrimp cocktails. If you hadn't been. Recommended you wouldn't step inside. Also, fajitas style fish and shrimp, great.

While it is located just off the main plaza, it is easy to overlook as you stroll Calle 62, since it is tucked away between the many shops lining the street. It is well worth the visit for those diners wanting fresh seafood at inexpensive prices. It won't win awards for decor, but that's not what you go there for.... More
