Wanted to try Pibil dish which is one of the specialities of the region and noticed this was on the menu. The chicken dish was cooked in banana leaves with a variety of spices and was delicious. However it came on it's own with no sides, not even rice. This had to be ordered at an additional cost which didn't... More

Eggs, bacon, juice, toast, coffee 75 pesos. Order additional plates if you are hungry as the basic breakfast was not very filling. Fast paced, chaotic, very busy. They do have and use AC. Very slow service - understaffed.

Cafe Pop is next door to the elegant El Portico del Pellegrino and they have same kitchen and owner. They have been around forever in Merida and both deserve better reviews than some of the upstarts, particularly those claiming to be Italian. My wife is from Rome where we have a place. For an inexpensive casual meal or coffee, Cafe... More

It was busy when we went to Cafe Pop for breakfast and we had to be a little demanding to get noticed to be seated but once we were, the service was fine. Very inexpensive meals that come with fruit or juice. I recommend the pancakes and any dish served with bacon....their bacon is so good! My over easy eggs... More

Very nice breakfast, if you are staying in the center, this place is ideal, complete breakfast options with a good price. The attention is also very good.

When I walked in the door, I immediately noticed that the place smelled bad. Not appetizing, so I left without ordering.

After hearing about Pop we decided to stop by for an early lunch. Food is good, both local and american, reasonanably priced. No atmosphere to talk aboutbut that is not why you go there. Most of the diners seem to have been coming there for years and enjoy conversation with beverages and food.

I love the Cafeteria Pop and wound up eating there for most of my meals when I was in Merida. The food is really good; corn tortillas come with the meals (not wheat!); everything I had tasted great; staff is really nice; simple but at-home atmosphere; and it opens early! And yes there is wi-fi.

This resturant has been in Merida for many years. More of an older group goes there. The food is good nothing outstanding. But for breakfast a good place to go. The service is great. My eggs last time were way over cooked. But I will go back.

Lots of dishes to enjoy. From retried beans and tortillas to bacon and eggs. Many juices, including Green juice!
