So we have friends that live in Cancun and took us here. Location is far from the tourist area, located around homes. It reminds me of Rainforest Cafe but better. The seafood is so good, from the ceviche to the lobster, the fried and grilled...octopus. You have to try the Va Q Va lemonade, it is so good. If you want to step out of your comfort zone try this place. It will definitely help if you know Spanish.More

So we just recently went to Cancun with the family and my father is a seafood lover and he checked this restaurant out before coming to vacation. Its not in one of the best zone in Cancun but we got an Uber and felt pretty...safe. Once we got there they seated us pretty soon and the restaurant is very cute. It seems as if you were inside an tree house. You have a lot of variety to choose from. We got shrimp cocktails, a seafood soup, a whole fried fish.... HUGE by the way and fried fish filet. Food was excellent and prices were very reasonable. Really recommend this restaurant and don't forget to get a coconut ice cream for dessert. It was delicious.More

This is one of my favorite seafood restaurants in Cancun by far, the decoration is very cool, almost like dining in the jungle, the seafood selection is great and of excellent quality at a reasonable price, it is off the main tourist area of cancun,...but worth the taxi ride if you are staying in the hotel zone and dont mind venturing out of the comfort zone.More

Whenever we visit different countries we like to go local. Why go to a restaurant like home?...may as well stay home and save the money. Read reviews about Va Q' Va and decided to go there. It is generally open 10am to 7pm but they...may restrict customers if it gets too close to 7pm because they want to be closed by then. In the spirit of going local (and saving some money) we took the R2 bus from the hotel zone and got off at the Walmart stop. From here we flagged down a taxi and accepted his quote of 50 pesos for final transport to the restaurant (including 12 pesos each for the R2) was only 74 pesos total to get there. Va Q' Va is getting towards the outskirts of Cancun and in an area that I probably wouldn't want to visit late at night but we felt perfectly secure in the daytime especially with door-to-door taxi service. It has a large seating capacity and a great authentic Mexican atmosphere. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and made our visit enjoyable. Our waiter spoke English and they also have English menus on request. The seafood was top notch. My only negative comment was the price was a little higher than I expected (1000 pesos) but that is totally my fault as being near the end of our 30-day trip we splurged with lobster and lots of shrimp. You can definitely keep the price down by ordering accordingly. Returned the same way we came (taxi and bus).More

Heard this was a nice place to eat and tried it. It is located on the far north end of 5th avenue. Close to our Royal Hacienda ville. The place was very nice with excellent seafood. The combo ribs, shrimp and lobster was only 350...pesos. The taste was excellent, server and staff were very friendly and bathrooms nice and clean. The second floor dining area was nice and airy. Sadly no cervaza though! We are going back again soon. I would recommend this establishment.More

This was our second visit, and it was no easier to find the second time. Third time will be the charm. I can only say the seafood is superb. None of our group of four is overly comfortable with Spanish menus, so choices are difficult....But we somehow muddle thru and enjoy whatever we order. On the way out, one of the waiters was kind enough to suggest using the bus to the hotel zone instead of the cab. We hadn't realized that was an option out there. We'll use that method to get there also next time.More

This is our 9th or 10th time in Cancun, and it's pretty windy, cold and overcast, so we were looking for an adventure, some great food and to get out of the hotel zone, were we got suckered in to a 1,640 peso lunch that...was way below average. I found Va q 'Va!!! ("Go Go!") on the web, and we took a taxi ride for 36 minutes from the hotel, which doubled as a sight seeing trip. Our taxi driver waited for us, and the round trip was 700 pesos, so not cheap, but worth it ;-) We split two excellent ship dishes and had 2 margaritas and 1 beer for 470 pesos. Service was outstanding. The locals at the hotel knew of this restaurant, and said it's a ways away, but really good and affordable. We'll be going back for lobster ;-)More
