Beautiful new decor, full of wood accents and a contemporary vibe. The food is still great and the service friendly and helpful, I love that some of the staff have worked here for over 15 years, they know their stuff and are proud about it....Really good Japanese food with Mexican hospitality, what more could you ask for?More

Yum yum yum, sophisticated tastes were very much pleased by a delicious and interesting meal. The staff was lovely and the interior decor was gorgeous!

I've been coming to this restaurant for years while visiting Cancun. It has never let me down! The sushi is always on point whether ordered at a table or while sitting at the sushi bar. The sushi chefs have worked there at least a decade...and always offer the best in customer service and obviously the sushi itself. I noticed a recent post said that it was closed and under construction. YES they are under construction but they remain OPEN. There is a wooden door you have to enter which leads you to the main door. It's a protective tunnel, if you will. If you look at the pictures the person posted saying they are closed you can clearly read 3 different signs that say "we're open" in Spanish. A word to the wise... you might want to learn the native language of the city you're visiting. That poor guy missed out on a great dinner and he was only 5 feet away from being seated!More

Save yourself a disappointing trip - they are closed for renovations, with no online notice. I visited yesterday around 7:30 pm only to find a sketchy construction site. A few other couples came by to attempt to eat at Yamamoto as well. No one picked...up at the phone number on the website (we called several times over the previous week to try to make a reservation).More

The place is very simple in decor, the special at this place is the food. The Service is fairly good. A place that is very good to go for a fast dinner.

Ask any of my friends that dine out with me and they'll warn you about my critical response to so many restaurants. Once in a blue moon, I have no complaints or festering disappointments: Yamamoto Restaurant was one of these rare occasions. Such a happy...experience and so refreshing to feel truly satisfied about EVERYTHING, especially the generous portions. A tad expensive but not crazy expensive, and the atmosphere and superb flavour made it all truly worthwhile. I'll surely be going back for seconds this week before heading back home to Toronto.More

The restaurant was recently uplifted and improved. Food is good as always as well as the service. Good Sushi and moderate pricing. Great option in Cancun
