Restaurnat was very close to our B&b. Looks definitely a bit different. People were very friendly and food was good but nothing extraordinary. Carful with the local Mezcal, a good chance for a terrible headache. (not sure about thequality of the production process)

Try the Curried Chicken, or the Pescado - delicious! Also many local craft beers. There is entertainment at 8:30. It has a children's & adult bookstore Closed on Sunday. Rustic setting. Some natural foods for sale, granolas, jellies soaps etc.

They appear to be trying too hard. I love tasty and unique food. The food here was unique, but they forgot about the tasty part. The service was excellent however.

I visited for two reasons - one was that the reviews here on tp were good and the second was that I was getting sick of meat based tacos every day! When in Rome eh? The reviews didn't disappoint. In off the busy street lies a calm oasis that was made ever better by some soothing music and a friendly... More

The food at La Jicara is delicious and wholesome. They have specials every day, including vegan, vegetarian and paleo options. Not open on Sundays.

A lovely restaurant with a good selection of vegetarian dishes. The restaurant has a patio like setting with a covered roof. There is a book store attached to the restaurant. The beer was cold, the server was so pleasant and the chocolate dessert was mouth watering.

It was great to discover this delicious vegan/vegetarian cooperative cafe, with a fantastic independent press bookshop attached. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the food fresh, organic and tasty. The lunch of the day deal, with 3 courses is a real bargain.

Restaurant, bookstore, cultural center.. Very casual. Gay friendly. Political. Great tostada appetizers, I had one of carrot salad, another of kim chi. A wide selection of beers.. There's a platform for presentations - on one of my visits a transsexual gave a lengthy talk on the subject, and their experience. It was well attended. I wish my Spanish was better... More

We sat down for more than 20 min before anyone came to take our order. The food was actually good, but by all means, do not look into the kitchen, as you will encounter with no higine standards whatsoever; the two cooks do not use hair nets, not even fix their hair into a proper ponytail, the kitchen floor is... Had the pleasure of an early dinner at La Jicara last week. First, the aesthetics at La Jicara are attractive, especially for those of us who love gardens. The restaurant has an awning-protected open ceiling, filled with the most beautiful blooming vine, framed by many slats of bamboo. It's a charming and pretty effect. A intimate dining area is surrounded... More
