This restaurant was recommended by a local and we are so grateful! It was a little slow when we arrived and they made 4 custom-made plates for us and one medicinal tea for one of our group. We agreed that it was one of our...More

I come here once a week and I have a background in culinary arts. Just go and order anything. Esther is the soul of Oaxacan home cooking and the hardest worker in the business.

We loved this place. We were able to sit at a pleasant table near the a window, and our waitress, the owner, was very helpful and nice. We had the Oaxacan mole negro enchilados and the red chile enchilados, and they were both very good,...More

El Escapulario - they have two menus, with one explaining the food in English. Estelle did her best in trying to explain items to us,although our understanding of Spanish is very limited. So the menu helped immensely. This is a wonderful restaurant to be introduced...More

Went here for dinner and shared the Oaxacan tasting platter. Good range of delicious food, but slightly overpriced at $300 pesos. Also ordered the mango juice which was warm and very watery. Still enjoyed our meal but expected more for the price.

This pace has the most magical atmosphere, even better... they make the best food you can get. I went twice and felt that I should have gone more. The 5 moles were beyond delicious, but bring a friend!

I ate at El Escapulario with family and was immediately impressed with the excellent service, and homemade, authentic and savory dishes. The guacamole with thick chips was exquisite. The estofados rojos (chicken stew with red mole) was out of this world! Served with fresh tomatoes...More

I must admit that I didn't actually stay here and have a meal. It is extremely rare for me to leave a restaurant after I've been seated but this was one of those times. I don't eat meat - just vegetarian and seafood dishes. So...More
