This restaurant, located on the corner of the Zócalo and with views to it is a perfect place to sit down, relax and sample great Oaxacan food. We are Mexican and go there often. The food is straighforward, such as you would find in the food market, but here you can have drinks and be waited on and try various... More

Best thing was the atmosphere and the view of the Zocalo. The service was also excellent, I ordered tortilla soup, which is my favorite Mexican dish that I try to sample at all Mexican restaurants. It was good, but not hot, the way I like it, (temperature). I don't even remember what I ate as my entree, it was forgettable.... More

the restaurant is situated on the first floor of one of the corners at the zocalo square. The view is brilliant and you should at least have a table at the window,- balcony side. The food is okay and i was somehow worried about the previous reviews but the reviews do not correspond with the reality. The chicken mole was... More

La casa de la Abuela – Excellent location on the main square – 2nd floor. Try to get a table by the window for a lovely view of the Cathedral at night. The menu had a nice selection of Oaxacan specialties however the quality and taste unfortunately was only just adequate. Not sure if I would go back again, maybe... More

They have a special mole. Choose any. You are in the right place to taste this traditional and delicious food. The starter of pumpkim flower filled with Oaxaca cheese is awesome!

Beware of the size of your plate. They bring you a lot of food. Mole is great, (grasshoppers) chapulines are safe here, you can eat them.

All the food here is good. The restaurant is not much to look at. You can't go wrong with this place, for a quick informal meal.

This restaurant is a pleasant place to eat dinner - mainly for the incredible view of the Zocalo below. Try to get a table on the edge of the balcony as we did. The food is good value with some tasty traditional Oaxacan specialties - we each had a mole dish, which we enjoyed. Only down side was is that... More

My friends and I (one of whom was Mexican) had a Christmas feast to remember. All the dishes were delicious, the view of the cathedral was superb, and the service was very pleasant. It was so good that we would have gone back a second time if we had been there for longer.
