We wanted some quiet dinner on the Zocalo and ended up at the El Asador Vasco. The view from the balcony overlooking the plaza was pleasant and the music from below enjoyable. The food was not particularly great and not particularly cheap.

The restaurant is centrally located... in the middle of everything. It is beautifully decorated. I had the mole and it was delicious. Try it!

Tried it twice. First tine food was mediocre, incorrect, and a bit cold. Thought it might be a bad night. Tried 6 days later and it wss a tad better but will definitely not go again. Sorry.

Worth a meal--good Oaxacan food. Service is inconsistent by Oaxaca standards. Try to get a table that looks out over the Zocalo.

I was not sure to visit this place, I decided to give a chance and the service was excellent. I Ordered an "Arrachera estilo norteño" and it was very good and peaceful environment.

Though the restaurant is in a nice location and was very intimate - we seemed a bit rushed as our server pushed us for specific orders and then ran away. The ambiance was very nice and the toilets were extremely clean, I would have to...More

We enjoyed sitting at a table overlooking the Zócalo, taking in all of the sights & sounds of Oaxaca below. The ladies who served us were very friendly. The food was a disappointment. The Caesar salad was overdressed and soggy. The onion soup was too...More
