This is a traditional place to eat food from Oaxaca. They offer tlayudas, tasago, black mole. Everything is very good. Nice place to eat and have some after dinner business talk.

Bella Lula is a mid-high Mexican restaurant. Food are related with Oaxaca cuisine. You can find tlayudas. Mole negro. Tasago. Food is good not great but it a very trustable place to go. Prices have skyrocketed in the last 12 months. On weekend is very crowded take your time or make a reservation. Consider 250 to 300 pesos per person... More

Good food .. Pleasant surroundings, decent Prices. Open until 7 p.m. Every Day. The only slight annoyance; television sets generally on...however, they can be turned down or off when requested.

Everyone has talked about the food, which is excellent. As I am not an expert in Oaxaca, I would like to add the awesome service we received, everyone was really on their toes to have all customers happy.

I've been going to La Bella Lula on my Xmas vacations in Mexico city for the last decade and it never disappoints. As I've noted in the title of my review, this restaurant specializes in food from Oaxaca. The menu is large and you'll be sure to find something for everyone. In terms of appetizers, I would recommend the sopa... More

A colleague of mine who lives in the city recommended this place, and he was spot-on! It's located diagonal to the British Embassy, and behind the US Embassy, right off of Reforma. The decor is traditional, and the food is high-quality Oaxacana cuisine. The prices were more than reasonable for a semi-formal work lunch, the service outstanding (as I found... More

I used to eat at La Bella Lula often when I lived in Coyoacán and recently I reacquainted myself with the pace and its still as I remember it. Its situated on one of the main streets of Coyoacan, Miguel Angel de Quevedo and its an easy 6-7 minutes walk to the restaurant from the old historic centre of Coyoacán... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
