Although mostly dishes from Mexico, both post and pre-colonial, there was a strong emphasis on fresh ingredients put together in inspired combinations. The service was impeccable. And yes, the setting, building, etc. is indeed wonderful. It ain't cheap....but an equivalent meal in the states would be twice what it was here. Make reservations, not easy, or come before 7:00 to... More

We dined at Azul twice and enjoyed the food and atmosphere immensely. Friendly staff who were helpful. It is a busy place but there is a rooftop bar for a short wait if you don't have a reservation. There was a mistake in the bill that we did not notice, but the management and server corrected before we left, with... More

Azul Historico is overrated. All plates are removed when seated and everything is served on a bare table, from bread, to salad, to entree. There was no plate for the bread or knife. Nothing elegant about this place. I have eaten there about four times and each time was a little worse than before. This evening was the final time.... More

A beautiful inner patio dining experience with nice night sky view through trees above. Very nice shops on the terrace above to shop before dinner and some close at 8pm. The wine selections were good and the tortilla soup was delicious served in a unique and interesting bowl presentation. Nice mini taco appetizers with mole which was part if the... More

This restaurant was highly rated on Tripadvisor, and recommended by the concierge at our hotel. Lovely venue, BUT... Waiter informed us he did not speak english (guess there was no one else available). I felt rushed....you needed a reservation or you wouldn't get a table (we did). One meal was obviously wrong (no meat included), and the waiter argued with... More

Don't get me wrong - food is good here, the ambience spectacular, service very accurate... only thing to note - at this price, I could almost eat in NYC - so if I am in Mexico, at this price I want something out of this world - and that is not something I got.

Bustling restaurant in an open courtyard. Our waiter Alan was professional and friendly. Starters: Pork tacos - mediocre. Jamon Iberico salad with figs and olives - good but would have been better with a light vinagarette on the greens. Mains: Shrimps in pumpkin sauce - very good. Steak with six tiny new potatoes - good, but very small portion (... More

As soon as you walk into the historic Azul y Oro you are transported back to colonial Mexico. The courtyard is adorned with beautiful, mature trees, adorned in lights. Complimentary beverages (beer, wine and fresh jugo) await you as you put your name in and wait for a table. Traditional UNAM colors of azul y oro are intertwined in the... More

Good value for money. Manager very helpful, although it sometimes looks chaotic. A good choice for the city centre.

Lovely atmosphere, lovely food but the service was not as attentive as other reviewers suggested. We had the hot chocolate at the end and that was a lovely experience as it was made beside the table.
