Sanborns is like the Mexican food equivalent of Steak N Shake. Perfectly adequate, large menu, standard fare at standard prices. The service is fine (although keep in mind most of the wait staff does NOT speak English). I give them three stars for convenience and conformity but I would always prefer Mexican street food. That said, this Sanborns is in... More

These guys are everywhere in Mexico City. My friends had heard of them so we picked one to try. Not great. It was later in the evening, we just wanted something light. I ordered a bbq birria sandwich. Very poor choice, not much pork, blessed little sauce and dry bunwich. And the beer was expensive, at least compared to our... More

Sanborn's is a Mexico City institution located in the beautiful House of Tiles. If you go be sure to eat in the enclosed inner courtyard - a large, gorgeous room. The fun is the building, the food is the price to pay for the experience. Service was poor and bored.

They had a special advertised in the window. Second item free, stated, hamburgers, sandwiches, wraps. So I ordered a hamburger, wife a sandwich and they claimed since it wasnt two of the same, the charged us for both. Asked to see the manager, claimed he was out. Never will eat there again

The building is beautiful, plan to walk around the whole building, it is worth it. Food is good as well.

Went in on the suggestion of our private tour guide, who took us to his favourite part of the store- the bar!! The bar was not open, but it did look nice; we were able to walk around. Big staircase and a little elevator. The central court eating area was lovely, but I can't comment on the food. The rest... More

The building and ambience is great, very regal. The history of the building is interesting. Ordered soup from the starter menu. Bean soup. It arrived along with the main courses, which we duly sent back, whilst starters were eaten. The soup was cold. As in Gazpacho cold. It took AGES to get a waitress's attention, and they shrugged when I... More

Went for dinner there because it was close to the theater. Dinner was just okay. Somebody wrote that Sanborns was the Dennys of Mexico City. Frankly, Dennys could be better. The space is beautiful but take a peak and go elsewhere.

There are many Sanborn's outlets throughout the city, and several were in the Historic Center. The serve familiar food at fair prices, and they also sell necessities such as tooth paste and other things that may be hard o find for tourists.

One of my favorite places to eat in Mexico City. You feel like royalty eating in such a beautiful place. The service was good. And we enjoyed our breakfasts.. yummy breads, coffee, and loved the various choices. We had the chilaquiles with the green sauce. It was fresh, hot and delicious. I just wanted to sit there forever and enjoy... More
