OK so having heard about La Polar from family and friends in Mexico I made it a point to go; went with my brother in law to check it out. The atmosphere was the real deal with great Mexican cerveza and plenty of mariachi's roaming around for your listening pleasure. As much fun is also the people watching. One group... More

This place was such a treat. The birria is so good. The service is great. They have unlimited amount of drinks you can have. The waiter keeps bringing as much birria as you can eat. Also served with del rancho cheese, avocados, and tortillas. Margaritas are very good.

Birria is the main and unique option here, it's good, tasty and well served, the sauce is good. A great parking lot, good option!

Mariachis, Norteño groups and even clowns for kids during the weekend is what you can find in this vibrant place in Mexico City. The birria is really good, portions are big and prices reasonable. You have to visit this place to experience a little bit of Mexico.

This is one of the many excellent places in Mexico in which you can really enjoy the magnificent details of the Mexcian culinary culture. The main dish that the Polar offers is Birria and as stated on the building walls it is the best in its class!! I personally can assure that it is incredible and I will like to... More

I had a driver showing me the sites of CDMX and asked him about his favorite restaurant. He raved about La Polar. It was a great treat. Excellent service. It is a small menu. The waiter brought bowls of Platillo Birria estelo Jalisco... big pieces of meat in a spicy rich broth with sides of onion, chile, (if you want... More

This is a drinking hall. Various mariachi bands can be commandeered to play your favourite Mexican song for 100 pesos. The whole place might sing with them. Not much else to eat but Birria, goat ragout, but it's good.

My review is quick: this is the real Mexico's cantina! I was the only tourist on a friday night. The menu is simple: tacos & birrias! Please don't look for fancy cantina's chain, choose the real Mexico experience next time you are at DF
