The best value here is the daily menu, but a regular menu is also available. We paid $75 pesos for a choice of soup, a vegetable dish and then a choice of one of three mains and this included a Victoria beer. Gourmet it is not, but great value for money and very convenient while in the historic center.

This kind of place makes me wonder about that charm and politeness that is usually ascribed to Mexicans. The service was slow and unfriendly. I returned my enchiladas because the chicken wasn't fresh and they at least kindly didn't charge me. The atmosphere is also a little dark and depressing.

We ordered the Tampiqueña dish - which consisted of a large steak, enchiladas, a quesadilla, rice and beans, and a small salad! All for about $7 dollars! Everything was good. :)

Aye here after recommendations and I'm sad to say , NOT impressed. The enchiladas I ordered were served without sauce and worse the vegetables were undercooked and was the avocado I ordered on the side. It took me a long time to be shown a menu, and I was not provided bread like the other diners around me. Will not... More

Very popular with locals, it can appear a bit long in the tooth...but the food is good. Decorated with antique radios and cameras and in at least a 2 century old building, with what must be 4 foot thick walls. The mole is very good.

On our last day of visiting Guanajuato, we chose to have breakfast at Truco restaurant. Usually is a very busy establishment although for being early Sunday it was quiet. We were kindly attended; Fresh coffee, orange juice. Eggs mexican style ( a little touch of chile, onion and tomato), cheese omelette, huevos rancheros. Their prices are reasonable food is fine,... Wandered into Truco 7 after a long day of sightseeing in Guanajuato. The place looked interesting and was packed. They offer a pretty large range of Mexican dishes, fast service, and reasonable prices. But the food looked and tasted like your typical Mex-Tex restaurant in the States. Okay, but not great.

Excellent food at a very good price. If your looking for good affordable food, go no further than Truco 7. This is where locals go to eat. Excellent enchiladas and tampiquena plate. Very quaint place. Worth it.

The worst service I've ever had in Mexico- servers ignored us for the most part- restaurant was empty but we waited for table finally seated ourselves-then waited to order forever while we could see servers laughing and talking in other room on their cell phones! Waited again for food that was for the most part dismal and unappetizing- spent almost... More

This is a small place near the cathedral with a run down interior which serves local food. The service is good, the menu is limited and the food is cheap and you get what you pay for it.
