This restaurant is really nice and calm. The food is good but not awesome. If you want to pause your journey for a couple of hours, this is the best place.

If you don't mind having to wait up to an hour for your order this place will be just fine. Otherwise, there are probably better places in the square. There is an old lady giving out orders to the servers, but she doesn't seem to help much around.

Came for a drink and possible food. Ordered cocktails (rum and cokes, and Margarita) we were served a glass of coke with no taste of rum and then finally was served a Margarita in a small glass only half full and loaded with ice.

Entering the Plaza San Fernando, you will be met by a barrage of friendly hosts, ushering you into their mediocre (though beautiful) cafes. Smile and walk past them. Look for the yellow chairs at the back of the plaza. Cafe Bossa Nova is unique for this plaza because it matches it's wonderful ambiance with good food. Seating is outside, under... More

Beautiful garden setting, facing the tiny little square. We found this place listed as vegetarian in Trip Advisor; although it is not a vegetarian café, it has many options! We had fries with melted cheese (yum!) and quiche with mushroom and spinach. Later, some coffee with nutella & banana crepe. Everything was delicious and the staff was super friendly. Definitely... Just sit under one of the lovely trees and order a desert, a cup of coffee and do some people watching.

We stopped at this location for an espresso and latte. Service was excellent and it was nice getting off the main streets of Guanajuato. Loved the music they were playing and used the free wi-fi.

The location is charming. The ratatouille with rice is excellent. We will certainly return on our next trip. try to be there during the Festival Cervantino every year in October.

Cafe Bossa Nova occupies a prime spot on the Plaza San Fernando, easily Guanajuato's most colorful and restful public square. The restaurant serves delicious crepes made from uniquely local ingredients -- the huitlacoche and mushroom combination is particularly tasty. The homemade lemonades are also quite refreshing. Be advised, though, that the kitchen and wait staff operate under their own peculiar... More
