During a recent stay at Hotel Irma in Zihuatanejo, I had occasion to dine at Shawshank twice. Had marlin and red snapper, both of which were excellent. Service was attentive and one evening they had live entertainment.

The Shawshank Redemption is a very tiny bar that added a few tables inside and out and began serving food. They have a short menu, but would accommodate your vegetarian wife and make her something she could eat. A very nice couple own the place and their customer service is top notch.
