We came for "brunch" on Sunday and it was amazing! We started with the Aporroellito? It was delicious. My husband tried one of the specialty egg dishes and he loved it. I had the chorizo quesadillas and it was incredible. And then to top it off we had a sweet potato flan.... the best dessert we've had on the trip!... More

I almost hate to tell people how great this place was (for breakfast), but it deserves the recognition. Friendly service. Delicious food. Especially liked the coconut nut bread. Charming. We've been to Zihua many times but never knew about this place. We won't miss it in the future and expect to try dinner next trip.

Carmelita's is a must stop for breakfast. All the Mexican specialities, great coffee, friendly, attentive servers and family members too. Now they have folkloric dancing and dance videos with dinner on the weekend. Surprisingly fun, food always excellent. Cash only as is true in many local restaurants.

Truly authentic Mexican food. Great omelettes along with enchiladas and a host of traditional breakfast fare. If you want a good smoothie or local fruit plate this is a great choice!

Yes I have gone to Carmelitas Cafe for Breakfast 3 times and every time the Service is impeccable and the Staff is so very kind and nice, the food is great and the best coffee and juice drinks. And they will make you anything you want just ask. It is a family business and very good family.

What a wonderful place! This is a family owned business and it shows! The service is outstanding and the food is an absolute must have. During out 7 day vacation, we dined here 3 of the days and wished we would have come more often. By the second day, we were welcomed with open arms! By the third, we were... More

The breakfast was delicious and their breakfast rolls were amazing. Did not try any other meal but was told the lunches were good as well. Very helpful staff and helping us decide on a good choice for breakfast.

Stopped in for breakfast, and found the staff to be very helpful with explaining menu choice etc. We had the Mexican scramble eggs, and a Jambon, y Queso omelette. Both, were very well prepared, and tasted great. They offer more traditional breakfasts, and in hindsight, we probably should have ordered those, as many we have spoke to recommend them. Place... The location of Carmelitas is really lovely. It's a nice little hide-away spot with trees all around, and a nice pergola. I'm not sure if there is an indoor space, because we walked up, and were seated on the patio. It was brilliant. This is a really busy spot and appears the locals want to eat here too. The service... We are a family business for over 20 years we were located within the Airport Zihuatanejo, the business was called "Snack Bar - El Mirador"; but in 2008 we decided to leave the anonymity and moved to town with a new "Carmelite Cafe" concept. The mission of Carmen and Don Jesus was always clear, offer our customers the best dining experience in Zihuatanejo. During these years we have been aware of the importance of treating our guests like family. We pride ourselves everyday to trust Cafe Carmelites to treat at home; therefore, we insist that the recipes of Mrs. Carmelita, always keep the flavor of the Mexican family kitchen. We will always have an eye to providing the best quality in each of our dishes; leaving aside, a friendly smile and a humble to serve our customers heart. We cook for you like for our own home, without shortcuts, no frills, with love.
